Arrival Story:
I was looking for a companion for my puppy (Rusty) and she happened to pop up on Petfinder.com over a weekend. Unfortunately for me, I waited until the following Monday to call the shelter to inquire about availability -- and a few people had already e-mailed. I asked to be placed on the waiting list, though I figured I had no chance -- the two others ahead of me were all willing to drive a long way to go see/adopt her. Two days later, I got an e-mail from the shelter saying, "If you want her, you'll need to come today, or we need to offer her to someone else." Needless to say, I dropped everything at work (thanks to an awesome boss), went home and picked Rusty up, and off we went for our ~4 hour trek (and that was just one direction!) -- returning with double the fun and double the fur.
