Nicknames:
Miss Daisy, Daisy Maisie, The Dazzler, Dazzles

Quick Bio:
-purebred-pound dog

Likes:
Lying in the sun, rolling in the dirt, pigs ears, anything chewy, (by accident of course)chewing up fine leather goods, esp. items made by 'Coach', long sniffy walks

Pet-Peeves:
Baths, being left in a cage, loud noises

Favorite Toy:
Not so into toys, but bats around every treat like a cat toy first

Favorite Food:
pig's ears, chewy rawhide treats, cheese of all kinds (a family trait)

Favorite Walk:
To the open air coffeehouse where crumbs abound and she can be openly admired and petted by everyone who passes by, or to the dogpark where she finds the smallest dog, tags it, and says 'you're the fox' and wants the chase to begin

Best Tricks:
the slappy elbows dance in circles when deliriously happy; the 'smarts' to come back around a pole after she's caught her leash on the other side

Arrival Story:
Daisy was found roaming in Eastern Iowa and had an ear infection which couldn't be fixed at the local shelter. She was sent to a Vet Tech School for an operation and they kept her ther a year because she was so amiable, using her as a test animal. She then went to a shelter where she stayed another year. A volunteer there sent her photo to a friend in California who fell in love, and a student was located to 'Drive Miss Daisy' to her new California home.

Bio:
An essay featuring Miss Daisy will soon appear in BARK Magazine and you can read it here: http://www.america-the-globe.net/d lp/files/dogtime.html Daisy has a large backyard now where she spends wonderful hours everyday digging, lying in the sun, lolling in her huge shingled doghouse that has shingles, wallpaper , a comfy bed, and a photo portrait of her new family who loves her dearly. While she'd spent most of her life (from age 5 mo.) in cages at either the vet school or shelter, she emerged like Nelson Mandela with a beautiful, gentle, kind and noble spirit. There is an essay called "Being In Dog Time" that features Miss Daisy and can be read at: http://www.america-the-globe.net/d lp/files/dogtime.html
