Arrival Story:
Harmony's life wasn't always so harmonious.. She actually managed to escape a terrible situation... This dog is the epitome of a breeding machine.... We were told this poor, poor momma dog had about a dozen litters in her life....!! She was rescued from an unscrupulous backyard breeder who bred her every heat cycle since she was about 6 months old. Her last litter might have been to worse one for her. Dad (or one of the dads) was a huge English Mastiff.... Can you imagine what this poor dog went through? Or terrible ordeal is finally over. Harmony has been spayed and is now safe in our program. She will never have to be "barefoot and pregnant" again. Sadly, having so many litters has taken its toll on Harmony physically, but thankfully, it did not affect her amazing personality at all. She ADORES people and we must stress how loving and friendly this dog is... She loves everyone she meets with all her little heart.... Physically however, her multiple pregnancies are obvious. The skin under her belly is very loose and her nipples have been stretched extensively. Many people are put off by this deformity and we knew when we took her in that this physical disfigurement was going to work against. We can only hope that there is at least one person out there that will not let this sad factor be a deterrent to give this amazingly sweet dog the loving home she deserves. After all, its not like she meant to find herself in such bad shape.... Please don't let Harmony's difficult life discourage you from opening your heart to her. If you have a special place in your heart for the underdog, Harmony is just what you are looking for. She has sooo much love to give. This precious soul deserves to be pampered like no-others for the rest of her life.
