Likes: Chasing tennis balls, having her belly rubbed, sleeping under the covers, and barking at motorcycles when she's in the back of the truck.
Pet-Peeves: People who make nasty comments about her because she is a Pit Bull.
Favorite Toy: Her tire and the tennis ball that Maya has.
Favorite Food: Sand! (And you should see what her poops look like after she's been nibbling at the beach!)
Favorite Walk: The beach or anywhere that she can play fetch.
Best Tricks: If you ask Jena what road kill is, she'll flop over on her back.
Arrival Story: Jena (pronounced Yay-na) was found starving and terrified in an industrial part of town. On the way home she got car-sick and threw up nothing but sticks. She weighed 30 lbs when I found her and now weighs a healthy 52 lbs! I wasn't planning on keeping her, but by the time she was healthy and spayed, I couldn't give her up because she is such a sweet, loving girl.
Bio: It's fairly obvious that Jena was abused before I found her. Although she is a bit shy, she is a wonderful, playful, friendly dog. She adores being outside, chasing tennis balls and exploring. She also loves to go camping and has her own backpack, boots, and polarfleece sweater for when it's cold. When Jena is inside, she's fairly mellow. She likes to always be touching, whether it's sitting on my foot or sleeping curled up next to me, and like any self-respecting Pit Bull, she considers herself a 55 lb lap dog.
Jena is a cancer survivor! She had a mast cell tumor removed from her right flank in January, 2005; then, in June of 2006, she had part of her left cheek, jawbone, and some teeth removed due to Fibrosarcoma. Jena came through both surgeries quite well (I think they were tougher on me than her!) and has been healthy ever since. I urge everyone to check their pets regularly for bumps and lumps and get anything they find checked out. I'm glad I did; Jena had a rough start in life and deserves to be healthy and happy for many years to come.

The rules are simple: First, I will tell you seven things about myself. Then I'll pick seven furiends to tag, and they'll have to tell seven things about themselves and then they pick seven furiends, and so on!
1. I have survived cancer twice!
2. I like to bark at the dog on the ceiling (mom says it's just my reflection in the skylight, but I know there's a dog up there.)
3. I like to bark at motorcycles when I'm riding in the back of the truck.
4. My favorite thing in the whole wide world is to go camping!
5. I chewed through a 2x4 porch railing once.
6. I torment my sister Pita by napping in her crate when she's not in there, heh heh.
7. My feelings get really hurt when people say mean things about Pit Bulls; I am not vicious, I am not a killer, and there's no reason to be afraid of me (unless you're a stuffy or a squirrel, BOL!)
Ok, I tag these pawsome pups:
1. Precious Michelle
2. Coco
3. Sunny Lee
4. Teddy Bear
5. DarlaMae
6. Moxie
7. Maggie
Hi pups! My most pawsome pal, none other than the furtabulous Zoe Dingo tagged me and now I'm it. I get to choose 7 of my pals to tag.
Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
Here are 7 fun facts about me!
1. I love my moms so much that I try to hump her leg (moms does not appreciate this show of affection.)
2. I have had two kinds of cancer and survived both!
3. My name was originally going to be Sola Noelle, because moms found me on the Winter Solstice.
4. I'm missing two thirds of my teeth, but can still chew through a 2x4.
5. I can jump up off the ground and into moms' arms, but I only do it when she invites me to.
6. I love children but am scared of very tall men.
7. One of these days, I'm gonna get that doggy on the ceiling (I bark at my reflection in the sky light.)
And now I'm off to tag these pups:
1) Fred Astaire
2) Daisy, SDIT
3) Pantera
4) Sammi
5) Dozer
6) Charlie
7) Pita
It's Chinese New Year
Fireworks explode loudly
I growl and bark
That's the Haiku I wrote for the new group I'm in, the Dog Haiku Group.
I'm trying a new therapy out to get over my issues with loud noises--writing poetry. So far, it's not really working...bark, bark, bark, grrrrrrrrrr, bark, grrrrrrrrrr, bark, bark, bark, bark, grrrrrrrrrrr, bark! As long as you keep setting those firecrackers, off I'm gonna keep barking, er, I mean writng Haiku!
