Went on a wonderful walk today, in a new place which happens to be only a short drive away from my house. Daddy says its amazing what's right on your doorstep.

The place we discovered, known as ' Happy Valley' was exactly that! Mummy seemed quite cross that her new red wellies were completely caked in mud after five minutes and it didn't help when I tried to cheer her up by jumping playfully against her jeans with my lovely muddy paws. There were some very big dogs in the field who went 'moooooo' - so clearly they were foreign dogs of some exotic breed.

The path we took was covered in gourmet fare, such as horse poo and other smelly delights . Again, my eating them seemed to make Mummy cross. Perhaps she thought it would ruin my appetite for tea ...

Wasn't sure about crossing the river on stepping stones, until I realised it was just like doing a series of long jumps at agility class. How I scoffed at my scaredy cat sister Marnie, who has not done agility yet, and had to be carried across.

Happy days! I hope we can go back there soon.

A Merry Spitzmas had by all.

Well, Christmas came and went and I have to say that it WAS all it's cracked up to be. My (aloof) sister Marnie and me were whisked off to a dog friendly hotel in the Peak District to enjoy the holiday season. I wasn't sure I'd like staying away from home , but we got to break lots of rules, so it was great! Sleeping on the bed with mummy and daddy is normally a big no-no, but we got away with it every night in the hotel! Result!
And whenever we appeared in the hotel bar we had a crowd of admiring humans all making a tremendous fuss over us. I was in HEAVEN. The best dressed dog competition was a fiasco, however. Firstly, it is beneath my doggy dignity to wear a silly Santa Claus costume, but I put up with it just for a quiet life. Secondly, don't ask me to sit still and behave myself when some foolish human has abandoned a sausage on the floor - as if I'm going to resist THAT! I've no idea why my mummy withdrew me from the competition somewhat hastily at that point - but if you ask me I got the best prize anyway!
Thankyou to the lovely people at The Dog and Partidge for living up to their 'dog friendly' label. I hope we can go there again next year.

In the meantime, we're forecast snow for tomorrow. I've never seen that before , but mummy seems concerned that it might make me go a bit dappy.
The cheek! I am a sensible sort. (Except after having a bath. Or when I'm on the beach. Or when visitors come. Or when I'm on a football pitch. Or when I see a bird. OH FORGET IT!!!!!)
