Today I Crossed Over

Hi Friends -

Just wanted to let you all know that today I crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge. Mama was worried about me because I had not been eating and had lost alot of weight, so she took me to see Dr. Hunt and he told her I was ready to go. Mama stayed with me and Dr. gave me a sleepy shot to make my crossing really peaceful. I was sad to leave Mama because I know how much she loves me and she didn't want me to go, but we both knew it was time. So now I'm at the Rainbow Bridge saying "hi" to my family that is already there and getting to know my way around. Thanks for all your friendship while I was with Mama on earth. God bless you all!

My Day of Adventure!

Boy, did I have a busy day yesterday! Mama & her friend took me for a ride in a BIG truck. Mama said this trip was all about me! Boy, did I feel special!

We went to a place called "the pound" first. I wasn't sure I wanted to go in there, but Mama said we had to deliver some donations to the poor doggies & kitties who have to stay there. Then, while we were there, I got a rabies shot and a microchip (ouch!) and my licence for the next year. After that, it was back in the big truck and on to our next stop.

Our next stop was the v*e*t*. Mama can be sneaky! Well, we met Dr. Carr, and he looked me over. He told Mama that I have a degenerative eye thing in my left eye and beginnings of the same thing in my right eye. Now I have to have eye drops everyday, and someday I might have to have surgery, but not for awhile!!! While I was there, I got my distemper/parvo shot & got weighed - 12.2 lbs.

Dr. Carr surprised Mama by telling us that I'm not 7 - 8 years old - more like 10 - 14! Well, I AM a little hard-of-hearing and those eyes, too! I could have told Mama I was "older than dirt" if she'd asked me!!!! BOL

Anyway, back home in the BIG truck, and a nice long walk with my foster-brother, Eddie, and I was ready for bed!!! What a day!

A Week of New Experiences!

Hi everyone!

My name is Jackson & I've had alot of new things happen to me in the past week. Let me tell you about it!

First of all, I got rescued from the mean streets by a kind lady who brought me to my new mama. Mama rescues needy pets, and she took me in and immediately called her friend Ms. Joan the groomer to shave all my matted hair off & give me a bath - a first for me in along while.

She called Dr. Rhonda to get medicine for my icky eyes, gave me a nice soft bed to sleep in and some t-shirts to keep me warm until my hair grows back, & lots of good food to eat. She also gave me a new birthday - January 1st, a day for new beginnings! Then she gave me my own page on Dogster!

I can't see too well, and I'm a bit wobbly on my feet sometimes, but I'm sure happy to be here and get to know you all!!!
