Jackson just passed basic obedience with flying colors. He doesn't really know many tricks yet. But, we are working on crawl and it is so cute!
Arrival Story:
I had been considering another dog for quite some time (years). But, I hadn't been able to convince my husband. I was always looking on petfinder.com and rescue websites. I would frequently print out the dogs I liked and show my husband. Surprisingly, my husband showed "some" interest in Jackson. So, I told him I would inquire. Little did he know that I had already filled out an application with Labs4Rescue and spoke with his contact. The rescue is out of Connecticut. I figured that Jackson was being fostered in New England. Wrong! He was in Texas. This wonderful rescue group gets the majority of their Labs from the South. After speaking with his awsome foster mom in Texas a few times, Jackson was put on a transport van on his way to meet us. We picked him up in Putnam, CT. We were a little apprehensive without meeting him first, so we arranged a foster-to-adopt situation in case it didn't work out. It was a little rocky the first few weeks. My spoiled "only" dog Riley was having a few issues with sharing. But, things are getting better everyday. Jackson follows Riley around all the time. It is so adorable.
Bio:
Poor Jackson was found with two other dogs living under a porch in a not so nice neighborhood. The woman who lived in the house called animal control to remove them. She said they had been coming around for at least a month. Anyway, the shelter in Montgomery County is overcrowded, so there really wasn't room for them. The woman just wanted them gone and signed them over to be euthanized. But, Jackson is such a sweet boy, he must have charmed the right person at the pound because they called his foster mom, who works with Labs4Rescue. She went to meet him and had him pulled immediately. Jackson is one of the sweetest dogs. Everyone who meets him falls in love instantly.
