Arrival Story:
Abby was the best Christmas gift ever! She was also the first Christmas gift my fiance and I gave each other. A coworker had walked out of work a few days before Christmas, only to see a known druggie kicking a 2 month old puppy around in the parking lot. He had decided she wasn't "mean enough" and wanted to be rid of her. Our coworker took her home (she was named Lola at the time) but wasn't able to keep her so Christmas night, we went to meet her. She came running over to us, tongue hanging out of her mouth in preperation for giving us kisses which she did like there was no tomorrow! We could tell that she would be a handful but really...what puppy isn't? We decided she was ours and when we got ready to leave, our coworker brought out the carrier she had gotten Abby in. It was a cat carrier so small that Abby had to back into it, otherwise she wouldn't be able to get out. She did this without hesitation but once in the car, she was terrified to come out. As soon as my fiance leaned his seat back and put his hand out to her, she plopped her head down on it and passed out. The rest is history!

is sick. It's really big and swollen and get this...it moves! I keep sniffing it trying to indicate that something is wrong but she just laughs and tells me I'm cute! These humans are dense!!

I pity Lassie...this was her life!

CGC and baby brothers

I got to see some kind of new dogs last weekend and hopefully I'll see them again this weekend! We were practicing for something called the CGC test. Mom doesn't think I'll be ready for this go around but we are going to work on my manners so that I can take the next one that comes up.

I just thought it was fun. My Halti frustrated me because It kept me close to Mom when I wanted to go play with Titus, Rumble and Wrigley but once Mom and Andrea showed me it was time to work, I settled down and made them proud! After we worked a while (in the snow no less!) we got to go climb around on the playground which was really fun! I watched Rumble and Andrea play disc from one platform and then I watched Kirstan and Cole walk around the field tracking. I could also see Faith, my favorite because she always has treats for me, talking with some other people. I felt like queen of the world!

Andrea even said that she would like to play disc with me sometime! I don't know if I can do what Rumble does...he jumps over her leg and back and all kinds of neat tricks but I would be willing to try!

On another note, Mom's tummy is getting bigger. It's really weird. I can tell there is something in there. She says its the brothers we are getting but I know I didn't come out of a human's tummy and Wrigley said he didn't either. I hope they don't try to chew their way out! Mom and Dad said that they will be great and that I will love them but I can't help being worried. I sniff Mom's stomach a lot to try to keep tabs on them.

Big Brother

Well, it happened. My parents got me a big brother. I didn't actually get to meet him for a few weeks. That was cruel! I knew there was another dog in the apartment...I could smell him behind the closed door but I couldn't see him! And then I could hear him running around when I was in my box! What a way to treat the first dog!

Then when we finally met it was kind of weird. Mom and Dad think I have some sort of herding dog genes (didn't know herding dogs wear clothes!) because I kept herding Wrigley. I couldn't help it! I was just trying to play!

Now emotions have kind of settled down and Mom and Dad let us be out together and play and all that good stuff. But our favorite thing to do is to lie in front of the fire or on top of Mom and chew on our bones.

But now I keep hearing about two more kids! How many more dogs are Mom and Dad trying to fit into this apartment! And why is Mom carrying these kids in her belly? I keep seeing Dad touch it and it's getting bigger than it was before...things are a'changin that's for sure!
