Arrival Story: In Hopkins, there is a place that should be called ET heaven, but it is better known as Cloud 9. Several years ago, the owner, breeder, trainer extrordinaire, Dawn, introduced me to the world of ETs( English Toy Spaniel)A human doesn't have to look to hard for a canine companion because somehow they usually find you. So before I could say, "Am I really prepared for a second dog?" I was introduced to Dickens and found myself holding the most cuddly puppy in the world.
Bio: Dickens "official" name is Rum River's Great Expectation and he really is a wonderful work in progress.. Thanks to Cloud 9 owner Dawn, Dickens comes from an extraordinary line of agile ET's. His passion is agility, well, on second thought, food is his first....agility is a very close second. To my knowledge, there has never been bred a more companionable canine. Although he is still a little shy amidst crowds, his spirit is undaunting and he does his best to mingle and schmooze when called upon to do so. His exuberance overshadows his obedient nature on many occasions but if that is a fault, let him be wrong....it is one of his most endearing qualities. His joyful barking can be heard non-stop as he runs his agility courses. His plaintiff barks can be heard when he is waiting in a car. His snoring can be heard after a long hard day of play and strategically planned naughtiness. Apart from those times, if a wagging tail could make noise, there would never be a quiet moment in his life. Dickens sister, Razzel Dazzel and he are finally becoming buddies, and it has to be said that it is entirely to Dickens unending efforts that progress is being made. He takes the slaps, the nips and the bumps all for the sake of friendship. Now, it has been seen that Dickens gives Razzel a clout or two when she is being too bossy or out of line. Way to go Dickens! Last seen together, they were playing "tug" with their new chipmunk/tree trunk toy. Dickens continues to work diligently on his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test. Way To Go Dickens!
