Likes:
She loves everyone, it shows because her tail is wagging 24 hours a day. She LOVES people and other animals, especially doing the "dane lean", giving people a head butts and "butt" butts and sitting on people's laps. Oh, and rides in the car too!
Pet-Peeves:
When people don't want her to sit on their laps, her itchy butt, people who don't like dogs, getting her toenails clipped, balloons, squirrels, when her sister Emmy gets the zoomies, and the vacuum.
Favorite Toy:
Any stuffed animals, the more "life size" the better. She has a giant puppy that she cares for and grooms as if it were her baby and always brings her stuffies to people as love offerings.
Favorite Food:
Canned food, particularly Merrick Brand foods like Cowboy Cookout.
Favorite Walk:
Orion Oaks Dog Park, going to the bus stop, running with mom, going to her brother's cross country meets. Nova does not run races anymore since her amputation.
Best Tricks:
Really can't do more than shake, barely, and its a very goofy shake. But I am the master of the "dane lean" and can "slime" a person better than any dog out there.
Arrival Story:
Iwanted to get a friend for my Blue Dane Emmy and wanted them to be close in age so that they could enjoy life together. I met a guy in Pet Smart with a handsome male Dane that I admired and asked him who his breeder was. I got in touch with the breeder in Charlotte, MI and waited for the "right" Fawn female. I drove to see her when she was a few weeks old and instantly fell in love. She was the bossy, verbal girl of the litter, the drama queen. To this day she is still very much a talker, fluent in Dane Roo-Roo and she does a lot of moaning and groaning. Everyone seems to understand her perfectly!
Bio:
Nova is nothing like he sister Emmy, who is more of a calm and collected Dane who only wags her tail on special occasions. Nova loves everyone and will give you the head butt, or just the "butt" for hours. She will even climb onto your lap and sit on you like she is a little lap dog. She will do this to anyone who will let her, she is not selective. She is very, very tall and lanky, never had a problem with weight. Her parents Juno (brindle) and Morgan (fawn) were HUGE so that's why I am such an enormous hunk of love. Mom was 150 and dad was 190 lbs.
In October 2008, we found out that Nova had osteosarcoma and she had her front left leg amputated on 11/11/08. So now she is what they call a "Tripawd" dog. She is really enjoying her life as a tripod and is still very healthy and happy. She also has glaucoma and is totally blind in one eye.
