Arrival Story:
Well, before I came to my home with the greatest mommy in the world, I lived with very mean, hurtful people. They didn't feed me for so long that I lost all of my muscle and my fur didn't shine. I couldn't even walk and most of the time, they hit me. For a whole two years I was locked in a tiny crate, never being fed or pet. Somehow, the animal shelter found out about me and saved me. The mean people were never punished, which didn't seem fair to me. The shelter workers were scared I was going to die, because I only weighed 15 pounds, when I should have been 50 pounds. The worst part of my story is that the shelter was shutting down and euthanizing all the animals. They didn't want to waste their money helping a sick dog like me, who would more than likely not be adopted anyway. But, that is when my mommy came in. She didn't notice me at first, because I was so scared I sat at the back of my kennel with my head down. I was afraid the bad people would come back and hurt me again. But, they didn't. When my mom finally saw me, she didn't leave my cage until I came over to her, which took an hour. She knew I was her dog. The shelter started to say no, because they never even evaluated me, but my mom pressed. They finally said yes, and I went home to a place that spoils me. I'm so grateful to my mom that I NEVER leave her side and I do all that she asks me to do, because I love her that much. She always says I am the smartest dog in the world, but really I am just the luckiest. I am also a therapy dog, and I help the community that decided my life was worth saving!
