 Quick Bio:
 Likes: Taking walks.

Pet-Peeves: Staying home alone. He hates that. Swimming is also too wet for his liking.

Favorite Toy: Chewy bones. The squeeky green koala died. :(

Favorite Food: Boiled eggs. He can have some occasionally, but if you ask him, he wouldn't need anything else.

Favorite Walk: He'll go anywhere you take him. With anyone. :/

Best Tricks: He knows the names of each finger in a hand, and learned them in less than 5 minutes. (No egg involved.)

Arrival Story: I had another field spaniel when I was in my teens and early 20's and the breed became the "right one" for me. 2 years after she left us, I had a desperate need to get a new dog but I was telling myself no. Then a friend sent me a link to a page announcing that two of my favorite dogs were getting puppies, and I could not resist anymore, but immidiately called the breeder asking for a female puppy. They said they suspected there would be only one or two puppies on the way, and they already had 4 reservations of females, so would I mind if it was a male. I gave it a second of thought: No I don't mind. There was 2, and I got to choose the puppy - only he chose me.

Bio: When I went to see the puppies when they were 5 weeks of age I had decided I would let the breeders point the better show dog for me. However, as soon as I sat on the floor, Primo crawled onto my lap and fell asleep. The breeders were amazed, as he was supposed to be the nasty full of energy nightmare of a pup. When he woke up, one of the first things on the to do list was to bite my big nose, and that was like a hand shake - we're an item.

Primo's papers are sent to Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service. They have been very helpful there, the emails I've received there are actually non-automated and they call the dog by his name. I think that so sweet and unexpected by any governmental official. They requested more information about Primo's separation anxiety, for which he gets medication. Of course our vet is on a holiday until the end of the year, so there's a bit of a wait to get her to sign stuff, but that's okay.
We were supposed to go by the end of May. Things change, and we're trying to make it by the end of March instead. It was a scary thought to be honest... Moving from Finland to Tasmania is a jump and a half, even for a plane!
Fieldies are not big dogs, but finding a cargo box for him has proven harder than I expected. I can get them, but they are ridiculously priced in Finland. Give you an example; Pet Cargo 800 is priced at 360 Eur's in Finland. Uk, the same box is 150 Eur's. In USA I found one for under 50 dollars! New too, not used. That would be great news, but nobody seems to be able or willing to ship it outside their own country.
Once he is in the country, he's thrown in jail, as innocent as he is, for 30 days, so his experience of Australia will certainly be quite authentic. We're planning on getting him a striped suit and a ball on his leg just to give him a real experience... ;)
