Arrival Story: Spike was the largest of his siblings and noboby wanted him because they all said he was too large for a Miniature Schnauzer. They also said he was mean. He is not mean. He's a very loving little fellow. Spike came all the way from Beaumont, Texas to Lafayette, Louisiana. Update on 3/28/2009: In reviewing Spike's AKC registration I discovered his pawrents lived in Ingleside, TX; his father's name is Buckie and his mother's name is Yentl Die Schonste Dame and Spike came to live with us on December 4, 1999. His registration name is "Spike the Spiderman." Spike went to the Rainbow Bridge on October 12, 2009 after battling "undifferentiated sarcoma." He will be furever loved and furever in my heart. I miss his arrroooos and perky personality already and he's only been gone a few hours.
Bio: My human sibling calls me "Robo-dog." Mom calls me a ham if she's home when I start making roo-roo sounds at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day. That's because I expect my Greenie and Beggin' Strip treats to be on time!! Don't they eat on time?? They sure do, so give me my treats every day and I will be a happy camper. If I'm ignored I'll run around making huffing and puffing noises and my roo-roos get louder until I get my treats!!!
UPDATE: My fursis Miracle was diagnosed with AIHA in August 2008 and it quickly took her away from us. It stands for Auto Immune Hemolytic Anemia. It is a serious and often fatal blood disease in which the body attacks its own red blood cells. Pawlease consider donating just a dollar to help find a cure for this horrific disease. To do so just visit another fur who lost her life to AIHA long before we knew what it was. Her name is Mica and she is helping raise money to find a cure: mica-the wonderpup. Just donate a $1 for this worthy cause. It's been approved by Dogster. Please do it for Miracle. We love and miss her terribly.

Yes, tears of joy at seeing a special memorial tribute to me by Nikki Moustaki on her Pet Postcard Project site. Ms. Nikki also lost a special furiend; her African Grey Parrot, but he's okay now cuz I saw Hope flying around up here at the bridge.
Aaarooooo....aaarrooooo from Doggie Heaven. This is mom's first birthday without Sheba and me since we adopted her so we gotta bark real loud so she knows we haven't forgot her special day. Yesterday she found out what I actually had growing inside me. The pathology report determined it was a "malignant histiocytosis" which according to the vet is a terminal cancer that's very aggressive and doesn't respond well to chemotherapy. Mom's relieved she didn't agree to put me on the chemo after all, but she's still sad wondering how this happened to me; the picture of health, cuz she looked that up and it appears it's a disease which is very rare in most breeds except the Bernese Mountain Dog.
Mom finally got around to starting a special candle lighting in my memory. My wish is that all my furiends will Light a Candle for Me here. Click on "Dedicate to Topic" directly under mom's name (Ramona, Lafayette, LA) to light a personal candle in my memory. Once posted everyone can view all the candles lit in my memory.
This is from last year when mom hoomilated me by dressing me in this postal worker costume. I cooperated cuz it was for the Halloween contests on Dogster.
