So I go to Petsmart with my Mom on Tuesday night, right? Well, she put this ridiculous costume on me that made me look like a dog skeleton. She then proceeded to call me "doggie bones" all night. Real funny.
Anyway, we get in there, and all these humans are cooing over me, saying how cute I am and everything (I know, right?). They put me up on this table, and took my picture! In that silly getup!! Oh brother.
There were other dogs there who looked even goofier than I did. One of them had on a feathery hat and looked oh-so-silly. I was glad not to be her. She looked pretty embarrassed as she passed by, wouldn't even look me in the eye!
Anyway, we all gathered into this big circle, and apparently, I won 2nd prize in the dog costume contest. This gets me a free grooming session. I've got to admit, that's pretty cool. I love getting cleaned up because it means Mom will cuddle up with me more.
Hope you all have a great Halloween, full of your favorite treats.

So it's been a while since I brought you all up to speed on my school experience.
I endured the first couple weeks of talking about housetraining. And crate training. Booooooring. Of course, I'm cool - no potty training needed for the Bo-man!
Then the next week, on to the "sit" command. No problem! I am quite seasoned in the art of "sit." What a time to show off my skills and snag a few treats in the process!
I finally hit a tough spot: The "down" command. Oh boy, that was a new one for me. Mom has been working with me all week to go from sitting to laying down. I know she got frustrated with me, but I couldn't help but lift my butt up off the floor when she started putting that treat down by my paws. I thought Mom was about to give up on me. I didn't want that to happen.
Last night, I finally got it! And I have to say - now that I figured it out, I am GOOD at it! I can't wait to show up those puppies tomorrow night.
Yep, I'm living proof that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks.
Snorts -n- SO good at my new tricks,
Bo

I went to my first dog school class last week, and tonight is my second one. I was a little surprised to see that I was the ONLY 5 year old dog in a class full of annoying puppies! When I looked up at her with my big, buggy eyes, Mom said something about "socialization." Whatever. Those puppies didn't scare me. I was pretty relaxed by the end of class, and didn't even care that there were other dogs in the room with me. Hm, that'll show Mom!
Wonder what we're going to do tonight? I guess I'm kind of excited about class now - believe me, the treats were flowin'!

Mom took me to the vet today. I needed some vaccinations, and boy did I get 'em! I was the perfect angel through it all. I acted like it didn't hurt, but Mom could tell it upset me a little bit, because I was shaking. That just earned me a little more lovin' so I can't complain.
Mom says I needed one of the shots because we're going to Doggie School. I guess I have a lack of manners when it comes to walking on leash, and when visitors come to my home. I like to jump on them. So? I thought it was charming. Guess Mom doesn't. Well, I am going to do my best in school so I can do what Mom says. She's the one with the treats!
I'm have to admit, though, I'm a little nervous about school. Seems my human kids are going to start school soon, too. They went shopping and got all sorts of junk to take along - heck, the stuff is all over the place. It's all making me a little anxious. Plus, they've been saying stuff like "I don't want to go to school!" I hope Doggie School isn't too awful!
I'll be sure to update when I start next month. Wish me luck!

Well, I am finally back home from a so-called vacation. I guess it was more of a vacation for my family, 'cause I didn't even get to go with them! ::hmmph::
They went far away to a house on the beach that didn't allow pets. Hellooo! I am NOT a pet; I am part of the family! I guess I shed a little too much and have a certain doggie odor at times, but come on; that rule is ridiculous.
So what did my mom do? She took me to Nana & Papa's. I have to admit, it took me a while to get over the fact that I was actually LEFT, but after that, it wasn't so bad! Nana went straight to the store and bought me tons of treats. Man, was I in Heaven! I was allowed up on to the bed to snuggle and sleep, and I got all kinds of attention.
My mom was showering me with love and snuggles when she got home. She told me how much she missed me, and how she'd try to find a beach house that allows pets next time.
But still! Every time I think of it, it kinda raises my hackles. I could totally picture myself on the beach, surrounded by babes, getting all kinds of lovin'! That could have been a grand time. ::sigh::

It is so warm outside. And the sun is shining... what a great day! Mom took me out to the yard and we played and played. She would throw my Kong ball and I would run as fast as I could to catch it. Mom took some pictures of me in action - how cool is that?! Maybe she'll post them on my Dogster site soon.
I just love Springtime!!

On Friday, my mom told me it was time for a bath. Apparently, I was smelling like a dog. Well, that would be odd, now wouldn't it? I reluctantly plodded to the hall bathroom, thinking I might as well listen to her and get a treat. This time, though, she grabbed my leash and called me to the front door! Where was I going?
We ended up at a strange place that smelled a lot like other dogs. I was kind of freaked out and went sniff-crazy, but finally, mom lifted me up and placed me into this big metal thing. Then she started squirting me with some nice, warm water. A bath! It was really nice, once I realized what was going on.
I got nice & clean, then I got even more special treatment. I was put under a nice, warm doggie dryer, and then I got my nails clipped and filed. Mom even put some goofy dog perfume on me. Hello. I am a GUY, mom!!! Sheesh.
All in all, though, it was a great time! I really liked that place and hope we go back soon.
We came home and mom was extra sweet to me, snuggling me close just like I love. I guess getting a bath has its benefits.

Man. I have been sleeping almost all day for the past 2 days! The holidays were just a little too much for me. I loved my presents ~ nothing beats Greenies!! The kids were especially spoiled. I didn't even want to come out into the living room when everyone opened their gifts. It was just too much.
It's 2 days later and it still looks like Toys 'R Us threw up in the living room. I am just keeping on the down low for a while.

Looks like it's time again for the Holidays to begin.
The big green tree with lights and baubles on it has officially been put up. I have to say I'm pretty excited to spend this holiday with my new family. Mom says she's noticed how much more relaxed I've been in the past couple months. I am really cozy and happy here. I know I'm loved, not to mention spoiled to the EXTREME!
Mom took pictures with me and my human-kids today. We were in front of the tree and I think the pictures look great, if I do say so myself. I think Mom is going to send them in the Christmas cards, so I had to make sure I looked my best. Mom helped me with a nice, soft brush. It felt great and boy, did I look fabulous!
Oh, I also noticed a stocking hanging up with MY name on it. My big, buggy eyes got a little teary when I saw that.
It's great to be me.

I am now on "Weight Management" dog food. So I've gained a few L.B.'s since I got here... no biggie, right? It's not like I even get a mere table scrap ever. ::big eye roll:: Well, at least the food tastes okay.
Hey, check out my new picture up top! I don't look fat to you, do I?
'Night.
