Arrival Story: Hope came from my ex landlord's husky (the poor thing is bred every heat) Not sure what her dad was-i was thinking a terrier mix until I recently saw a whippet and I strongly suspect that she may have this breed somewhere in her family tree not too far back!. I got Hope in the fall after losing 2 pups that summer (1 was a rescue who was poisoned before i got him and ended up succumbing to organ damage from the poisoning at 8 months, the other, who I adopted a month after losing this guy contracted Parvo prior to getting her vaccines and didn't make it) I was very tempted not to get another dog and when i fell in love with Hope when I saw her at all of 2 days old, i decided on the name Hope because "I Hope to GOD nothing happens to this one" She is the sweetest dog-she mothers everyone-she washes our rescue kittens and even nursed a kitten (making milk!) even tho she'd never had pups before. She is a very special girl.

Bio: One Oct 1s t a litter of 7 puppies were born somewhere in the halifax area. 2 days later Hope and I became guardian of them. they were brought to the SPCA by a neighbor of the mama dogs owner-he was planning on drowning them, and the neighbor thankfully brought them to the SPCA, where i am a foster mom. Hope, who had been spayed only 2 days before, adopted the pups as her own, and amazingly has even started making a little bit of milk, though not enough to feed them. However, she cleans them and lets them suckle, and cares for them as her own. She is a very special dog, and very aptly named as she certainly has given hope to these pups.
Jan 9th 2005-The pups have all been adopted, except for one, Emma, who we adopted! So Hope's little girl will always be with us!
Aug 2005-Hope got a new baby brother papillon-Gryphyn
