Bio: Maya is a wonderful, intelligent, well behaved dog, she is our first, and she has brought great joy to my wife and I. She is an American standard Labrador Retriever, so she is smaller (55lbs) and higher energy than the English standard that most people think of when they think of a Lab. She is pure bred and her parents were OFA certified, but even with all that the was on genetic issue that did come through, and that is "Exercise induced Colapse" (EIC). EIC is not very well known, but it can present like Hip Displasa. When the dog is worked hard the back legs go lame.
