Beau was found on the side of a dirt road by a coworker/friend. He knew we already had one basset (Belle) and called me to ask if we wanted another? I told him not really (we already had two). He said he had found a basset, but he was in pretty bad shape. I told him to bring him and meet me at our Vet's. Well...once I looked into those eyes, I couldn't say, "No, I don't want him"....He weighed about 25lbs. and his hair was falling out, he had big sores all over him where he had scratched himself raw, he had mites, worms. ect., ect. We had to bath him everyday in a special shampoo and keep him isolated from the other dogs for 30 days or until the mites were gone. We celebrate his birthday on Sept. 23rd because that's the day he came into our lives. Today he is healthy and loved unconditionally, and you can just tell he is appreciative by his affection!
