Quick Bio:
-dog rescue

Likes:
Belly rubs! Having both dog beds stacked on each other so she can sit up high. Getting into bed at 6 a.m.

Pet-Peeves:
Her brother chasing her under the bed. Going out in the rain.

Favorite Toy:
Chew bone, her brother Benny's chew bones, smushed frogs in the street, palmetto bugs, worms

Favorite Food:
She thinks everything is for her, if the bag crinkles in the kitchen, here comes Casey! She is koo-koo for carrots!

Favorite Walk:
Around our neighborhood, Forsyth Park.

Best Tricks:
She will dance on her hind legs all the way across our kitchen floor for a treat. If you put your hands up in front of her, she will put her paw up and give you a "high five". She now knows "sit" and is working on "lay down"

Arrival Story:
Casey was saved from being put to sleep for having heartworms by Save-A-Life. We found her on Save-A-Life's petfinder.com postings and went out to see her. She was very timid at first and hid under a blanket most of the way home, coming out only to take a treat from time to time. She spent about an hour getting used to us, our house and other beagle, and then suddenly acted like she'd lived there for months.

Bio:
When she hears the word "puppy chow", she immediately starts spinning in circles and standing on her hind legs. She likes to tease her brother so she'll run around the front yard on her lead spinning and flipping around to try to get him to chase her.

Benny and I stay in the laundry room while Mom and Dad are away. But sometimes I just don't feel like staying in there. There's a whole house out there, ready for exploring!
It all started a couple of months ago. I've always been able to jump that gate they put up. Whenever it's time for my bath I go running for the bedroom to hide under the bed. Sometimes there's a gate in my way, but that doesn't stop me. Heck no. I may be pudgy, but I can jump that thing faster than you can say "stinky pup."
So I started jumping the gate while the 'rents were away. Benny doesn't mind (I think he likes having the room to himself) and I like to lay on the top of the couch, it's much cushier up there. The humans can't do anything about it, because I don't really do anything wrong while I'm out. Unlike my brother, the instigator. I don't think he can get his big beagle butt over that gate without a running start, so I'm on my own out there.
I've found that I can go into the guest room and pull blankets out. And one day, just for fun, I tore apart some sponges and paint supplies that the silly humans had lying around. But that's the extent of my craziness. I just want to nap in the sun. Is that so wrong?

A couple of weeks ago, Mommy and Daddy came home from their errands with a big white dog! They said he had been wandering around our neighborhood and that he had no collar and he looked very friendly.
Benny and I came out to the back yard to check him out. He had fleas and was really skinny, but I thought he was kind of cute, so I hardly growled at him.
Mommy and Daddy gave him a bath (which he didn’t like, I don’t blame him at all, I’m not fond of them myself) and gave him some food and water.
After a day or so, the white dog felt much better and he started telling us he wanted to be inside too! I wasn’t so sure about letting him in, but he was cute. Well, of course since he was a boy dog (if you know what I mean) he had to come in and pee on our walls. But Benny and I told him that wasn’t cool and he stopped!
After awhile, I started to really like this white dog. During back yard play time I would run up to him, put my ears back and play-bow. I think he was starting to like me too!
Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy said we didn’t have room for three dogs and that we had to find him a nice family. Luck has it that a family wanted him so Mommy and Daddy took him out to live with them.
I sure miss him. He was one good-looking pup. Even if he wasn’t a beagle. Maybe next time, Mommy and Daddy will find a nice hound to bring home!

Mommy and Daddy took Benny and me to lure coursing today. I wasn't sure what was going on but I saw my brother Benny running really fast (for a Beagle) and his ears were flapping and he was barking really loud (as usual). Mommy took my harness off and let me go and I ran as fast as I could ... through the middle of the course. Nobody told me you had to follow the white thing! Mommy ran after me so I turned around and ran to her and flopped over for a belly rub and everybody laughed. I don't think I did it right.
Then Daddy got Benny and let him go and Mommy let me go so I ran after Benny! I chased him as fast as I could. I think he was trying to catch the white thing running on the ground. He didn't catch it, dumb brother. But I didn't catch him either. Mommy says I need to lose some weight before I can catch up to him.
Next time we go to the dog park I'm going to show off my running skills. Everybody needs skills.
