Arrival Story:
Rosa was originally my roommate's but I fell in love with her immediately and she ended up with me when my roommate and I went our separate ways. Rosa was my girlfriend, my best friend, my heartdog for 12 years. She was my one and only shepherd girl.

Bio:
Rosa had nearly all the health problems a GSD can have--hip dysplasia, digestive problems, sensitive skin. She died of hemangiosarcoma in December 2005. She dislocated one hip before she was a year old and the other hip barely had a socket--she should have been crippled and she was always kind of weak in her hind end but she got around really well and never showed any sign of pain until she was nearing the end of her life. She was a beautiful, happy, high strung girl. We walked every day (had to!), sometimes for five miles at a time and she loved every minute of it. We learned every square foot of our neighborhood and the lesser travelled trails in the Oakland Hills together. I will miss her forever.
