Quick Bio:
-mutt-pound dog-dog rescue

Birthday:
November 17th 2003

Likes:
Running around off leash, squirming in my lap in the car during rush hour traffic, my friends, removing the insides from stuffed toys, smiling.

Pet-Peeves:
Being surprised by poeple after dark, being kept on leash around other dogs, the Gentle Leader, not being allowed to jump up and put his paws in people's crotches, not being allowed to lick "Uncle Dave" in the face, having toys put just out of his reach.

Favorite Toy:
Large bones, anything that squeaks. Also, anything I don't want him to have.

Favorite Food:
Anything that I want to eat.

Favorite Walk:
Going anywhere with his friends Pan, Wren, Aslan, Maxx, and Kesa.

Best Tricks:
"leave it", "Shake", falling into the bay, looking cute at just the right times so it's hard to get mad at him, jump, and over.

Arrival Story:
At the time, I had just gotten a job as a dog trainer at the Oakland SPCA. Realizing that being a dog trainer who's never owned a dog, ever, was kind of silly, I decided to adopt one... At the time there were three dogs at the shelter who had captured my heart. Two Australian Shepherds, and an albino Chow Chow... One of the Aussies was adopted... So that left Ike and the Chow, and Ike had the stronger pull on my heart. Plus there was a question as to whether or not Ike would be euthanized for behavioral reason, and I didn't want to see him die. All the other trainers at the OSPCA tried to talk me out of adopting him, and the shelter manager went so far as to deny the adoption until I could jump through a bunch of hoops. But I persivered, and Ike came home with me on the 15th of April, 2004.
