 Quick Bio:
Likes: Staying on the lookout for squirrels and cats. Playing inside with her stuffies, chewing on bones, and chasing frisbees and tennis balls out back.

Pet-Peeves: She hates not being part of any outing.

Favorite Toy: Right now? Red Thing, Blue Thing, Purple Thing from Aunt Laurie, Hedgehog, Pony, Weasel. They rotate in and out of "Outpatient Services" where mom has to insert a new squeaker and guts and sew them up again. It's an ongoing process.

Favorite Food: Treats of any kind! She loves her daily vitamin.

Favorite Walk: Liberty Park, around the neighborhood, and in Ogden with the big dogs.

Best Tricks: Sit, shake, down, come, stay, "tell me," "where's (toy/ball/treat)?"

Arrival Story: From the Milo Foundation in California. She has been with us since June 5, 2004. Milo saved her from the Sacramento County Animal Shelter on her kill day, where she was dropped off in the middle of the night without any background info.
She was given the name Twiggy from the folks at Milo, because of her big eyes and long legs. Now she mostly answers to Twig. We owe a lot to her Milo foster mom Marlene, who took good care of her for 5 weeks before we met her.

Bio: A few months ago, Twig made the big move from Oakland to Salt Lake City. She slept the whole way in her bed in the cab of the Budget truck. She was really confused about the packing and the moving. Twig thought she had hit the "forever home" jackpot when we adopted her in Oakland, but now that she has a whole house, and a front and back yard, she's even happier.
On the weekends, we drive up to Ogden, where she gets to hang out with the big dogs and go on walks. She's had to learn a lot about pack mentality, and is adjusting to that nicely. Her favorite pal is Emily the Red Dog, who will play all the time.

Things are going really good right now! The weather is better, lots of sunshine and fresh air, making it easier to play outside. Yesterday Twig had a serious case of the zoomies when we got home, cute as hell, of course! Twig has made friends with lots of neighborhood dogs, especially Copper, Monroe, Skinny and Max. Fer cute! She also hangs out with Grandpa's jack russell Charlie--he has huge teeth but uses them softly.
Currently Twig is lobbying for a pony, but moms say no. Don't encourage her, okay??

This is my first diary entry. I'm a little nervous. My moms are both real "ar-tick-you-lut" and I'm still learning. Lots of times they ask me what I'm thinking, and what I would say if I could talk. They also really want to know what my old name was, but I'm not talking. I like Twig, anyway. Suits me.
A while ago my moms spent lots of time driving around and collecting boxes that smelled like a million different things and people. All our stuff went into the boxes, even my stuffies and blankies, and then I had to stay in the bathroom for what felt like forever, even though I had my bed, and my Snoopy waterbowl, and a stuffie I wasn't even interested in. Then when I got to leave the bathroom, the all the boxes were gone, my moms took me down to this big loud truck, and my bed was inside it between two seats that smelled like lots of people's butts. Mom said "load up!" and we did, and then they hollered "Goodbye, smelly Oakland!!" and we drove off. It was a weird "bye bye car" and a long drive (I slept in my bed for most of it).
Then the truck finally stopped and I got out. There were four really big dogs to greet me. They made me a little scared, and we got in a few fights over bones and "ter-uh-tore-ee" but then we were okay. My moms kept telling me that we were only living with the big dogs for 2 weeks, and then we could live in our very own house. Every day we went to our house and my moms made lots of messes and loud noises like banging. But they were right! We got to move into our house and the boxes were everywhere. Boxes make me nervous now. But this time, all of our things came OUT of the boxes and my moms wandered all over, up and down the stairs, putting things down, and then moving them around again.
After a while they stopped wandering around, and everything was out of the boxes. I was happy to see those boxes get flattened and put in the big blue bin for the blue-bin-pickerupper truck to take away. I have lots of fun now that I know where all my things are. I have lots more places to hide stuffies and bone bits for later. I have two outside play areas--my moms call them "out front" and "out back" and we play and play. Sometimes I try to bring my ball inside and they tell me it's an outside toy.
When the days come where my moms stay with me all day, sometimes we go to "Og-den" to see the big dogs. That's fun, because Emily the dog is my pal. She has a bum knee, so I have to be gentle when we play. Gladys is kind of weird, and doesn't know how to play, so I like to tease her a lot. And Jack can't see, so he has to listen to his mom for things like "whoa!" when he's about to run into something and "step" (up or down) and "go on!" when we're at the park and it's wide open. I have a BLAST!
