Chihuahuas ARE Working Dogs!

Mommy has been complaining about the power company lately, as the power went out last month during the night and the alarm clocks didn't go off the next morning. Mommy says that her alarm clock has a battery backup, but I wonder if she's just hallucinating....

Anywho, the same thing happened last night. And since I can't speak human, I jumped on Mommy until she woke up. She yelled somethings I couldn't understand - all I heard was "duquesne light" and "we're already late" and some words I know are bad. But Mommy and Daddy made it to work on time, so I did good. But then again, I wish they would have slept in and stayed home with me all day. Now that's what I call a good day!

Seeee! I AM a working dog!

Oh, Those Kids...

Mom took me to meet an old friend of hers last night. She promised me a nice drive into the country, but didn't mention the snow all over the ground. I had to do my business while gingerly stepping in the cold white stuff! Such torture! At home, I stay inside and use my litter box. Yes, I know I'm spoiled, but my toesies freeze so quickly in the snow...

I loved Mom's friend Melissa, but Melissa's daughter was a bit loud for my liking. She bounced around and was singing, so of course I growled at her. Mom didn't like that, and told me that I embarrassed her. What was I supposed to do? I was freaked out! After that little boy cornered me in obedience class last year, I'm wary of the little ones. I'd rather let them know how skittish I am up front. But when the little girl sat on the couch with me last night, she was sweet, and scratched my ears nicely. I think I could like her and learn to ignore her loud singing. After all, I've learned to ignore Mom's random loud singing.

A New Trick on a Wintry Day

Oh wow, it's cold outside. And snow is all over the place. Thank goodness I have my litter box inside and have no need to freeze my little tush off.

Mom and Dad are amused at my new trick, but it appears to work! As they're sitting on the couch, I nudge their thighs with my nose until they sit in a way that's perfect - perfect for me to crawl into their lap and curl up, that is! Right now, I'm curled up under a blanket since they're both on their laptops. Grrrr.

My mom got me this new shirt the other day. It says "Rudolph's got nothing on me," which I don't really understand. But it's a cute shirt, anyway. She also bought me this red and white striped Santa hat. Good heavens, how I despise wearing hats. Though I must admit that I look quite fetching in it. I'm sure Grandpa will absolutely love it.
