   Leave a bone for Kimba

Nicknames:
Kimbanator, Monster, Bratley, Twerp, Beautiful

Likes:
Subathing, taking baths and swimming, playing chase, visiting family and her best friend Belle, my parents' boxer.

Pet-Peeves:
Being disturbed while sleeping, being left alone, people who don't share their food.

Favorite Toy:
She loves her pink fuzzy bunny, her chewbone, her tennis balls and her stuffed schnauzer.

Favorite Food:
She gets Purina Dog Chow but she'll literally eat anything. She likes celery, grapes and Cheez-Its in particular.

Favorite Walk:
Around the block past her friend Nexus' house.

Best Tricks:
She gives high fives, and also knows how to undo zippers, and is very good at hiding her treats.

Arrival Story:
I got Kimba from a pug breeder in Pennsylvania almost two years ago. She was eight weeks old and weighed less than two pounds. I had wanted a dog for awhile, but up until that point had lived in an apartment that didn't allow pets. So two days after I moved into my new, pet-friendly apartment, I went out and got my Kimba. She's named for Kimba the White Lion (even though she is not white, a lion, or even male), a cartoon character who was my childhood hero.

Bio:
Kimba very much personifies the pug characteristic of being "a lot of dog in a small space," but her Jack Russell half definitely shows. She's got inexhaustable energy that I find myself wishing I could share, and she's a little bit too smart for her own good. If I leave my backpack on the ground she will open the zippers and take everything out looking for something yummy to snack on. It's never safe to assume something is out of her reach, even if it's a good three feet above her head. She really loves swimming and taking baths- she'll jump right into the tub if the water's on- but she hates the rain. She loves her daddy, her surrogate mommy, her family and our roommates- and, of course, her mommy. Why else would she destroy my room, steal my food and take up as much space as possible on my bed every night?
