Arrival Story:
We adopted Bear when he was about 8 weeks old. His mother was a white Arctic Timber Wolf & his father was a purebred German Shepherd. Bear was the only pup left that looked like a wolf pup & not a German Shepherd, so we took him. It turned out that he had nearly died at 4 weeks, after being trapped in a recliner.
We brought him home & we really weren't prepared for everything involved in having a pup, let alone a pup that was a wolf hybrid, but we did the best we could. He shortly outgrew the house & went to live outside, where we gave him, a nice doghouse, but he wouldn't use it. We bought him his first ball right after he moved outside & he was hooked from there on out.
Bio:
We moved a coupe of times after Bear got us, each time making sure we could take him with us. The last time, was into town & a small yard in a trailer park. Bear quickly learned how to break through the skirting on both sides of the fence & escape, so he had to be put on his lead unless we were in the yard with him. One day, the kids were in the yard, one opened the gate & Bear escaped & after a chase, was caught, escaped again & bit a little girl. He was taken into quarantine & voluntarily given up by us, in the hopes that he could be adopted by someone with a large yard. We haven't seen him since & I still cry when I think about him too much.
