Arrival Story:
We recently lost our 15 year old pit bull from old age. We had started the search for another dog. We had decided we wanted something between a small and medium dog. I received a phone call the day after loosing our pitty. I took a ride and went to look at the mini schnauzer this lady had. When I walked in and saw him it was love at first sight, between us! Dr. Diesel is my third shadow as we have nicknamed him because he follows me around the house.

My bark day is March 17, 2007 and my arrival date here in my new home Nov. 26, 2007. My mommy decorates cakes on the side from what I have seen since being here and boy I can't wait to see my barkday cake!

It's taken me some time but I still hurt and feel like he (Diesel) was short changed on his life with us. Back in March my groomer and I both noticed some major weight loss on Diesel. I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good so I changed vets and started seeing some of the best vets around. We had blood work done and the next day the news wasn't good as the vet ordered a sonogram of his abdominal cavity. The next day he was diagnosed with Lymphangiectasia. We started with treatment and feeding him whatever he would eat. We got him back to what we seemed to be his norm and went about our life. Life got very busy with a house of three kids and training that I was going through, I forgot to give him his medicines but kept an eye on him throughout the summer. I noticed after going away for a few weekends that he wasn't acting himself. I gave him the weekend to perk back up but it didn't happen, so I took him in to the vets. Again his bloodwork didn't come back good, so we started medicines again and took the nasty looks from the vet for allowing myself to get as busy as I did and not make time for his medicines, please I've already beaten myself up over this enough. So on October 1,2012 I was waiting for the bus with the older kids and noticed the Diesel wasn't acting himself, so I called the vet and took him in for blood work again. The vet said he had a liver induced senior moment, I took him home and I babied him for what I could. The next day the results weren't good but nothing that said what I was about to experience over the rest of the week could prepare me for it. Diesel seemed to be doing better throughout the week. He went where ever I could take him when I left the house or we stayed home. That Saturday at some point of the over night I got up to get a drink and he came to me in the bathroom. At that point I put him in his crate thinking that's what he wanted. Well my husband and son got up early and left around 4am and said Diesel was fine. About an hour later I heard a noise got up and saw nothing out of normal, went back to bed. Up a few hours later to find myself rushing Diesel off to emergency vet as my normal vet was away. From what I could tell Diesel had a seizure and had a lot of damage from it. the vets wanted to treat him but they couldn't tell me the outcome of treatment without his records. I knew the outcome wasn't going to be good and I decided to let him go to rest and not have to suffer anymore. At the age of five and half he will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

My summer...

WOW, I haven't been here in some time. Mommy went back to work and than Daddy lost his job. My summer has been great though! When mommy & daddy would take the kids to the pool I got to go too! I know I can swim but I really don't think I like the pool, mommy & daddy have put in there I don't last very long in there, long enough to cool off though!

Mommy had all my hair cut off for the summer bc we had a horrible tick problem here this year. So I am slowly growing my hair back, soon I will look like a schnauzer again.

Mommy taught me to walk up the ramp for the club house for the kids and than brought me down this silly thing that has a few little waves in it called a slide. It is really fun, try it out if you have one in your backyard! The kids even go into the clubhouse call me and I came running and ready to come down the slide. I have even taught my new little brother to do the same. I will see if mommy can put a video up of my brother & I coming down the silly slide!

When we aren't outside we are staying cool in the comforts of the A/C in the house. Mommy pretty much only takes me in the car when it's cool enough. She tells me when I can go and man I LOVE sticking my nose out the window and getting the fresh air into my system.

Updated my shots with my new vet, the last vet I saw was when I still didn't have my home with mommy & daddy. Mommy also had me checked for lymes diesease bc the amount of ticks they have found on me. I am in good health, except mommy thinks I need a diet. I weighed in at 22 pounds, the vet said I am fine bc you can feel my spine and ribs without pushing. I think now that I have my brother to play with I will be more active and will lose some weight, but not too much!

So that was my summer update, I hope mommy comes here more often Thank you all my friends here for the comments and gifts. I will make my way around to soo how you all are doing!

Well a few weeks ago I became a big brother to Tonka. He was rescued by mommy's brother, but come to find out someone in the house was allergic to him. So mommy's brother sent and email to her asking i few would take Tonka into our home. Mommy and Daddy couldn't say no, so I would like you all to meet my new little brother. He isn't really little as he is bigger than me, but I get him down everytime we play! So please welcome him to our new home.
