Midnight Bandit strikes!
I hate E-Collar!!!May 18th 2009 6:10 am[ Leave A Comment | 2 people already have ]
In case you are wondering, mom had to put an e-collar on me because I have a small cut on my right front leg. It started to heal but it was itchy and I kept licking and chewing. So the vet gave us some ointment to put on but I licked that off too.
Leave A Comment | 2 people already have Hi, I ran onto you through a google search of "German Shepherd Japan." We are a military family & just got orders to Okinawa. USAF. We have a two yr old Shepherd that we would like to take with us. From my research, it looks like it will cost us nearly $2,500.00 to get him there. I see that you eventually got your GSDs to Japan when you were there (read it in the forum). I am wondering, what was your experience getting them there (concerning the cost) & might you have any advice to help us streamline the process? I also have two young children, we will all really, really miss him if we are unable to take him. Thanks in advance!! Jaime Jaime, AS long as your dog travels with you on the same flight, it's much cheaper. Sasha traveled with my hubby later and it was $600. Verses Snowy traveled alone as a cargo - and it was $2300. However the cost of travel is reimbursable for both military and DoD civilian, so check with the finance office. (I got my money back when I settled my PCS travel) Do take your GSD with you - Life is not the same without our beautiful and intelligent dogs. :) P.S. Do start your paperwork early. You need to do Rabies titers at least 6 months early or your dog has to be quarantined (in Zama, they let us quarantined her in our government quarters but I am not sure how it works in Oki) If you have any question feel free to paw mail me... |
