Arrival Story:
My fiance (now husband), Brian, bought Blackberry for me as an early Christmas present... His family had adopted another toy mini schnauzer from the same place over a year earlier and had been watching the pups on the website for one for me. When he saw Blackberry he knew she was the dog for me! We drove 5 hours to Indiana to pick her up from the breeder and then 5 hours back.

Bio:
Berry is technically a 'miniature' schnauzer but is small enough to be unofficially considered a 'toy'. She is only 9.6lb full grown! (edit: Berry now topples the scale at 11.5lb!) The breeder wanted to keep Blackberry to breed her but thought she would never be big enough to have puppies safely, so gave her up for adoption. It turns out Berry was a late bloomer at is 3lbs bigger than the maximum estimated weight - that's a lot when you're talking under 12lbs total! Blackberry came home with me on August 8, 2004. We have lived at home with my parents, in an apartment where she was the only dog, and then back home with my parents.
