Lexi's Diary

All dogs go to heaven....

We went to visit Lexi tonight, we had an option to bring her home to live out her short life or to put her to sleep. We decided instead of prolonging her pain, we that had to put her down.

We both know it was best, she wasn't eating, lost a lot of weight, and just didn't look good. She looked like she was ready to go. We gave her hugs and kisses, and told her we loved her and will miss her. I told her that Grandma (my mom who also passed away young , age 43 of cancer) loves puppies so when she gets to heaven to ask for Grandma Shellie and she will take good care of her.

And then we let her go...

I keep saying life is short .. for her way too short she was only 4 months old but I know it was best for her living with cancer is no way for anything to live.

We miss you Lexi !!

Biggest fears confirmd.. Lexi 4 months has Leukemia

Lexi was diagnosed with Leukemia this afternoon. They say she has a couple days to a couple weeks to live.

So not fair .. she is WAY to young !!

Lexi Update .... god please don't take her yet !!

We heard back from the vet, her ultrasounds came back with negative results about infection/fluid pockets. She still has no interest in eating and is now throwing up again. Right now they think its 1 of 2 things.

The one we are hoping for is Sepmia (spelling?) Which is a system wide infection, which they will put her on heavy anti-biotics, and if it doesn't calm by tommorow they will do exploratory surgery to figure it out. We decided to have her already started on the anti-biotics, through her IV.

Second could be Lukemia. We will get the test results for this hopefully by the end of the day. If she has this- there is no chance of survival, she will come home and be comforted until she dies.
