I'm Not The Girl I Thought I Was

At least that's what I'm told anyway.

3 1/2 weeks ago mom took me to see Dr. Richards to have my blood drawn for the Wisdom Panel MX Breed Analysis because she's always wondered what breeds lurk inside my lovely little body. She was sure I was mostly Tibetan Terrier. Absolutely SURE of it. It's also one of the breeds they test for so she thought it was a shoe in. Boy was she in for a rude awakening.

Want to know the results? Just click below to find out what my Breed Analysis came back as.

RESULTS . . . And be sure to enlarge the documents!

Can you believe it? Can you? There are also 3 fluffy breeds that the Wisdom Panel Test can't test for that mommy thought in addition to what came back, I could possibly be: PBGV, Dandie Dinmont, or Skye Terrier. The test has an 84% accuracy rating, and most of that is based on not being able to test all breeds. So far though, they can test over 130, so that's pretty good!

For now, I'm going with the Afghan Hound/American Eskimo cross. Sorry, but I just don't feel like a Rottweiler lately. Wouldn't it be funny if I joined one of their groups though? BOL!

A Little 'Oopsie'!

Tonight I was lying on the sofa, in my favorite spot next to Mom, taking a wonderful snooze. It was the perfect sleep. Then daddy came upstairs and something told me it was time to get up, and get up NOW!

When I jumped down and went into the kitchen, one of the girls realized there was a wet spot where I was lying. Oopsie!! I haven't done that in a loooong time! Every once in a while when I'm extra, extra tired, I have a little accident while I'm sleeping.

Mommy just let me outside and cleaned it up. She wasn't upset at all. Luckily we have leather sofa's or I might be in the dog house!

Maybe I shouldn't have eaten that . . .

Mom and the girls went to Grammies house today and it seemed to me like they were gone for a looooong time. After a couple hours Winston and I were REALLY missing mom ... and getting bored, so we started to look around a bit to see what was what.

It didn't take long before we found Daddies Christmas stocking. He left it on the floor right next to the tree! And it even had goodies in it!! I mean what kind of good luck is that I ask you? Yummy stuff right there for the taking.

So Winston and I took. We took the Dark Chocolate covered Expresso Beans. The ones Daddy hadn't opened yet. We also took the Dark Chocolate Rum candies because they were saying, "Take me, take me!" That's what they said alright! My gosh, those were some good chocolates, even if they did taste a bit funky.

You know what though? They don't taste as good coming up, and I don't know why. Hmm.... Winston even tried to put them back so no one would notice. He left them in the chair, on the rugs, on the floor. Everywhere! It seemed like a waste of time to me because Mom and Dad just threw it all away later on.

By the time Mom finally came home I was basically bouncing off the walls, while Winston was not feeling so well. He was still throwing up. We had cleaned out the water in the water bowl, and I was running around the backyard like an Olympic runner!!! Then mom ruined everything. She called the Vets : (

Off we went, where they gave us both a shot to settle our stomachs, as well as some medicine for the next couple days. Then Dr. Shag said to give us boiled Chicken with white rice, and just a touch of flavoring. It sure was good!

Tonight Winston and I are back to our old selves. Everything is fine, though it did take a while for my caffeine buzz to wind down. BOL! Mommy says that was one VERY expensive Christmas stocking!!!!!!!!!

Running With The BIG Dogs!!!

Woohoooo!!!! What a day it was yesterday!!! I ran with the BIGGEST Dogs I've ever seen!

Mom and Dad were excited about something going on outside, but I wasn't sure what, so I ran to the window to see what there was to bark about, and what to my wondering eyes should appear .... two of the BIGGEST Dogs ever! Okay, mom says they are Miniature Horses, but they sure did look like dogs to me!

Next thing I know, Mom and Dad are out running around trying to get ahold of those critters, and so are the neighbors. Everyone was very concerned they might end up on the very busy road at the end of our street so every time they headed that way, Daddy made a bee line to cut them off.

Finally the older gentleman in the picture came over to bring his babies home. He called and called Kenny, which seemed to calm them down. Enough so that he was able to grab one, and mommy grabbed the other. The chase was over. Well that was no fun for me!!!

After the horses went back home, Mom let Winston and I out into our invisible fence area around the front of the house. Mommy couldn't find my collar but she let me out anyway (which she doesn't usually do) knowing that I know my boundries. Daddy was not happy with Mom for doing that, especially when the Miniature Horses came running back over!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoooooo!!!!! Winston and I were SOOOO excited!!!

Now I was REALLY running with the BIG dogs!!! Daddy was screaming at Mom to "put my collar on before they lose me!", Mom was screaming at Dad that I wasn't going anywhere, and we were just running and barking and loving life!!! BOL!!!

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous, even though I tried not to show it. After what seemed like an eternity of chaos, but was actually only a few minutes, Mom finally got ahold of Winston and I and put us into the house. From that vantage point I just barked my head off. BOL!! Again, the older man came over and he and mom were able to get ahold of Kenny and Mack. Home they went.

I was really hoping for a Threepeat, but it was not to be : (

You Picked Me

My new song . . .

One, two, three
Counting out the signs we see
The tall buildings
Fading in the distance
Only dots on a map
Four, five, six
The two of us a perfect fit
You're all mine, all mine
And all I can say
Is you blow me away
Like an apple on a tree
Hiding out behind the leaves
I was difficult to reach
But you picked me
Like a shell upon a beach
Just another pretty piece
I was difficult to see
But you picked me
Yeah you picked me
So softly
Rain against the windows
And the strong coffee
Warming up my fingers
In this fisherman's house
You got me
Searched the sand
And climbed the tree
And brought me back down
And all I can say
Is you blow me away
Like an apple on a tree
Hiding out behind the leaves
I was difficult to reach
But you picked me
Like a shell upon a beach
Just another pretty piece
I was difficult to see
But you picked me
Yeah you picked me

How is it that a little 4 pound kitten can take up so much room on a Queen sized bed?

I have been sleeping with Mom and Dad for 3 1/2 years now with no problem. Along comes Phin, and he's hogging the whole bed! Attacking me, playing with me tail ... a girls needs her beauty rest! Now I find myself sleeping on the floor quite often just to get away from him. Mom made sure to put a nice soft bed down for me because she loves me and knows I'm upset, but what I would REALLY like is if mom would come sleep on the floor with me! She tells me that's not about to happen anytime soon.

And I'll tell you, he purrs like a truck! Loud and strong! Mom says if he ever grows into that tail of his, he's going to be a BIG boy. All I know is that he's trouble. Hanging on Mom and Dad's fabric headboard, harrassing Cybil, stealing my spot on the bed . . .

I will say one good thing about him though, he sure does love to play with me! Alright, maybe we can share just a little bit of the bed, but stay on your own side little Phin!

How Could They?

That's what mom and I want to know, how could they?

At the local shelter we just adopted Phineas from, the NHSPCA, someone dropped a 7 - 9 year old Cocker Spaniel off in the donation bin, but had put it in a Sterilite airproof container first!

Of course you can imagine what happened .... the little girl tried desperately to get out, scratching and digging to no avail. By the time a volunteer made their way to the bin to check the donations, she had passed away of asphixiation.

Now I ask you ... how could they? How could someone be so cruel? The NHSPCA has an open door policy where you can literally walk through the door, drop your dog off, and walk back out again.

What is wrong with people?

This is just a glorious time of year, don't you think? Finally cooler temperatures, especially here in New Hampshire! Everything smells different, feels different, and even looks a little different.

Mom and I go for walks around the neighborhood and it feels good to have the crunchy leaves under my feet! Most of the leaves on the ground right now though are from the drought we've been having, but the pretty ones will be falling soon! The trees are changing already!

September 26th is the Harvest Moon this year. I'm not sure what I'll be harvesting, maybe some good old earth worms. BOL! Maybe mom and I will walk in the moonlight and listen for the geese flying South. I do know one thing, there's something about the cool, crisp air that makes this Lily start to bloom ; )
