My new friend

So I wanted to tell you all about my new friend. However I should say that I have known her a while, over 2 years in fact. Mom says some times you make friends with someone right away, but sometimes it takes a while for a friendship to blossom. This is one of those times.

You see when she first came here I didn't know what to make of her, she didn't do much and wanted all of my Mom and Dads attention. Then she became mobile, and it was still a little scary... I mean she seemed awfully little and breakable. To top it all off I was expected to be on my best behavior, even when she chewed on my ears!!!!!!

But something has changed in the past couple months. She doesn't seem as breakable anymore, in fact she has gotten quite big in a short amount of time. Mind you not as quick as a puppy goes to dog, but still fast. Now I have to say she has been putting down mine and Dexters kibble bowls for a while, but I couldn't understand the release command she said, so that was nerve racking! But the release word is clear now and she comes and puts her hand on my head..just like Mom does. Now she is playing with me, she outlast Mom and Dad on throwing my Kong, I have to say her throw is kinda weak, but it's a Kong, you don't need to throw it hard to have fun. She has been giving me these wonderful hugs. Nice hugs, no strangle holds ..just...dare I say..Sweet!! Sigh I really like them. And she has been remembering my pills, yup , Mom always forgets, but not my friend she always remembers everyday! I have to say my leg isn't as stiff and I am feeling like my spry self!

So I really like my new friend. Mom seems very pleased that the two of us have grown closer together. I think she wasn't sure it was ever going to happens, something about me being an "old dog" and set in my ways. But it did happen, it just took a while to blossom that's all. Yup sometimes friendship can take a while, but it sure seems worth it to me.

Oh and in case you didn't guess my new friend, it is the little furless one. Can I just tell you...little girls are wonderful!... Hmm no, little one I am not going to wear the purple tutu, but I will have some Cheerios with you!!! Milk from the glass! Yeah I can reach in there, but don't let Mom see!

Gotta go everyone, I have stuff to do with my friend!

Call me Killer!

Yup that's right Killer. It's my new nickname and I'm on a rampage. Why you ask? Cause yesterday I caught and killed 2 mice and help alert the pawrents to one that fell in the empty garbage can. (Why any creature would bother with any empty garbage can is beyond me, they are only good when there is garbage in them!!!)

So my new nickname is Killer. I have to admit I'm feeling a little frisky after all that action, and it doesn't hurt that if I turn them in I get a treat!

What a day!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! What a great day this is starting out to be. First I wake up and notice that it is snowing… I have to tell you I LOVE SNOW!! I love eating it, running it, jumping at; in fact the only think I might enjoy more is water! YES, I know that snow is frozen water, so it makes sense, doesn’t it!?!?!?

Then Dad tells me I am a Dogster Diary Pick of the Day!! Wow, me…I can’t believe it! Wow, was I excited, and all that excitement makes a Dog need to go out side and, well, ya know! So Dad opened the door and Oh boy, oh boy Snow, …………………………DANG it is COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well I’m a pointer so I ran and ran and ran! Now let me tell all you pups something, this is how you stay warm when you have to go outside during this cold, cause my brother Dexter just stood there and he was shaking and lifting his paws. Poor Dexter! (Mom thinks he was a southern dog!) So every pup, keep moving and when you come in find the warmest spot in the house, I prefer a nice sunny spot or if I’m lucky there will be a fire in the fireplace. But really any warm spot will do! (Even next to your sibling, because Dexter might be cold outside but, man that dude can get really toasty indoors!) So it is a good day!!

I also want to thank everybody now, Dogster is great and we have so many wonderful and supportive Pup Pals here. Thank you all!

Dexter has been here 1 year!!

Wow, so today is my brother Dexter's Gotcha Day. He has officially been here a year. While I miss being an only dog, he is nice company. I do wish he would loosen up and play more, but Mom says to give him time. She says that I'm bigger and I could scare him a little. Sigh... so I will give him more time. I do have to keep him in line a little, all he needs is a reminder growl from me to keep him on track! That's all part of being a big brother!

Happy Gotcha Day Dexter!

Today I turn 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup today is my birthday. Some of you may have noticed that Mom and I turned a little deep yesterday. I guess we are just reflecting on my life, and I know that I still got a lot of living to do! So I plan to not let age slow me down and keep moving and smiling.
It has been a very good day...well except for the rain! Mom brought home peanut butter rawhides and peanut butter treats...some of my very favorites. I have been getting so much attention today... I am loved!!
I am feeling so good I even let the small fry try and put my car harness on me. Daddy said I was very good. ... Don't you forget it Dad!!!

I'm Smilin again!

What a great day! It was sunny with a wonderful warm wind that brought fantastic scents to me. Best of all the weather was really nice while the small furless one was napping... so Me, Mom and Dexter were the only ones in the yard! I like the little one but it sure is great to help Mom garden without her! Mom seemed very happy also. She said for one when she took the leaves of the herb bed there was already oregano thriving and chives off to a great start. The other reason was I was smiling. Guess I haven't done that much lately and Mom was starting to worry about me.... funny she hasn't smiled a lot either...but she seemed happy today! Odd huh!?!?

Anybody need a new friend?????

NO, I'm not trying to get rid of Dexter....at least not at this moment.

We read about this on our pup pals Winstons page. This little boy Bodhi
( http://www.dogster.com/dogs/689003 ) needs a home and needs one soon. He has some issues but don't we all. Apparently he poops too much. Good Dog, we understand that, you all should see Dexter my brother...the only difference is he goes for like 15 minutes at once....kinda amazing. Bodhi is only 10months old, so you know things will get better. Mom thinks he just need the right home. My brother Dexter supposedly had all these issues.... Mom's still waiting for them to surface. Please if you have room or need for another friend or know someone who might, direct them to our friend Bodhi.

Ahh, and so it ends.

Mom says my reign as Dog of the week is over. But she says it was a good run, and really longer than a week. So Thank you again all!
Speaking of run.... well more of a walk , I did it, the Easter Seals walk. It was so much fun. Dexter and I were the only non service or therapy dogs there. But it was so cool they let us go into the building with all the people afterwards. Dexter and I walked 5 miles, and really I was just getting warmed up but my job was done. See Grandma had someone who would double their donation if she walked 5 miles so she took me!!!! I helped her stay on track and Dexter went with Grandpa. But our team raised almost 1,000 Dollars. Mom says that's great, cause Dad's Uncle has made big progress since entering the program!

SNOW!!!!!!!

It's Snowing and snowing and snowing. In fact is snowing so much that my walk for Easter Seals was canceled. To bad we didn't find out until after the truck was packed and we had left, fortunatly we were only 10 minutes from home. Boy, was I confused when we pulled back in the driveway. I mean my kibble and blanket was packed!!!!!! Hmmm, Mommy says next weekend!!!!

In honor of me being Dog of the Week, Mommy thought I should do my first journal entry.

First - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

We are very overwelmed, and Mommy apoligizes if she gets behind on all the requests. I feel very flattered, Mommy says that Dogs all over the world are going to know that I am Dog of the Week. I have a feeling I would not like the picture they picked, because Mommy says it show's my true self... sitting on her bean bag like I'm a human and giving her the what are you going to do about it look! BOL!!!!

Really we are very flattered and thank you to everyone. It is such a big week, you see I am doing my first walk for Easter Seals. Daddy's Uncle was in a very bad accident a few years ago, and they have been a big help, so now we are going to help them. So if you don't hear from me, don't worry I will get back to you... but we need to do this walk!
