I once belonged to a stern Amish Farm and I was used primarily for producing pups. Don't get me wrong this was fun and I had a nice male dog to pal around with. I didn't live in luxary and I was often scolded and sometimes worse. So that's why I am real timid and roll and pee whenever anybody makes a fuss over me. This Amish guy was nice enough to turn me, my pups and my male friend to a rescue group in Ohio. I am not sure how I wound up in Indiana but it's been a long haul. I had several foster homes that complained about me because I jump 6' fences and hate to be confined. I guess the neighbors didn't like me running at large. Then one of my foster parents homes burned down. We were all lucky to have made it out alive. I think I spent a year being shoved from place to place and even longer on the internet trying to find a suitable home. That's where Sherry and Mark come in. Mark has had livestock his whole life and married Sherry the dog rescuer. Together they have more dogs than most but they wanted still another dog, one that would help Smither's Mark's Border Collie with all of their live stock. I guess Sherry like my bio and they drove over an hour to adopt me sight un seen. I was so happy I peed all over myself and them too! The ride to my farm was fun I stood with my front legs on the console and could watch out the window while Sherry and Mark continued to make a fuss over me. I couldn't believe my eyes when they said "We are Home" All I could see were hundreds and hundreds of acres with a small farmsted right in the middle. Sherry put a leash on me even though She was told that I don't run away. Oh well. As I got out of the car I could hear the other dogs greeting me. I was happy I couldn't stop wagging my tail. Bio: It's been almost one year since Sherry and Mark adopted me. Smithers is teaching me how to control myself around the cattle and hogs. I do pretty good and me and Smithers sometimes team up and have different jobs. Zena was rescued not too long ago as I am sure you read...Zena helps with the cattle too but she has a lot to learn. Sometimes Zena will eat the cow pies while Smithers and I work. When Mark looks Zena stops and pretends like she is chasing them too! I love it here, although I did have to stop chasing all of chickens. I get to sleep indoors at night and come and go as I please druing the day. I never wander but when Sherry and Mark leave the farmsted for a long time they have to put me in house just in case. I am glad that they don't leave often but still I don't mind I have lots of company from the other dogs and animals here and two people that love me very much. I wish all of rescue buddies could see me now. Thanks for reading my bio, now I look forward to meeting more barking pals as I have become such a social girl.
