Quick Bio:
-mutt-dog rescue

Likes:
to be with his human, preferably ON his human...next best is to play

Pet-Peeves:
he doesn't like to be left alone in small spaces, or kept outside by himself on purpose. Also not getting enough attention

Favorite Toy:
This funky tennis ball with a tail and two mini tennis "eye" ball things that he flips around and carries with him. You can also throw it and he will "dash" around and bring it back.

Favorite Food:
He loves his Flint River Ranch food. He also like Zukes Peanut butter mini treats, and zuchini

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere where he has room to really run around and play

Best Tricks:
Just seeing him get happier and less scared is enough. However, if you pretend that you are going to chase him, like you would chase a cat, he will run around the house like a crazy dog. It's pretty funny!

Arrival Story:
I foundsweet, little DASH wandering the streets. He was starving, had fleas and his ears were fly bitten. He was terrified. I was finally able to get him to stop running and I got him to come with me by coaxing him with some treats. I brought him back to my house and set him up with a bed, blankets, water, and some yummy food! At first I did all of what I normally do when I find dogs (I have found many). I put up missing signs, reported him missing to the shelters and newspapers etc. No one came forward in a 5 week period. By this time DASH was living temporarily with us and I was desperatly looking for a foster home for him because my own dog is VERY jealous and used to being the "only" dog . But with DASH being a puppy we thought maybe they would get along and it seemed to go that way for a bit, but then things changed. That's the beginning of the story... Once DASH was in with us for a couple of weeks my own dog was getting more and more anxious and jealous. I started working with a rescue and they agreed to help by showing him at pet fairs, as I knew I couldn't keep him. It was heartbreaking for me because I, myself was becoming VERY attached to DASH. DASH only went to 2 fairs when I had a medical emergency with my own dog. My dog Haighti had a Glaucoma episode in her right eye and went blind for an hour. Now she needs glaucoma surgery. Haighti needed all of our attention and we could no longer keep DASH. I miss him every second of the day GREAT NEWS!!!! THROUGH DOGSTER SEARCH I JUST FOUND OUT THAT DASH FOUND A HOME THROUH COMPANIONS IN WAITING IN DEC 2008!!!! HE WILL NO LONGER BE LISTED AS PART OF OUR FAMILY, BUT PLEASE KNOW YOU CAN STILL LOOK HIM UP AS DASH /COMPANIONS IN WATING/ BEAGLE/ITALIAN GREYHOUND. A huge weight is lifted off of my heart...Please visit Dash and his Family they have a great video of him there. He will be off this page in a day or so. I want to give the family a chance to see his old pictures and profile, if they so wish to.

Bio:
My vet says Dash is probably a mix of a Beagle-Lab-Chihuahua-Boxer-mini Greyhound. Most people who see him think he is his own breed :)! Dash stands about 1+ foot high. Dash is a happy little guy who needs a lot of love and affection as I have a feeling he was neglected in his previous life. He definitely would do better with someone who was home during the day/eve for the most part, and would love a doggie companion to play with. He LOVES to play and go for walks. He does need some basic training, but mainly just a lot of love so he knows he's the good boy that he is!
