Arrival Story:
My mummy and her daughter always wanted a dog but daddy was never so keen (he had been attacked by dogs when he was a child so disliked them) luckily daddy is persuadable and as he liked some small dogs like Tilly the yorkshire terrier mummy persevered and finally after Kayleigh (mummy's daughter) done a lot of research into breeds they decided they liked the idea of a bichon. Mummy's sister knew a friend who had three bichons and one was pregnant so I was on my way! My breeder had a healthy and attractive history in the pedigree and when i was born mummy got a call in the middle of the night, Milly my real mum had 6 boys! at 4 weeks old mummy and Kayleigh and Dan (mummy's son) came to visit me and play. Mummy was holding one the the lazy puppies it just went to sleep BORING! i however was playing and eating and playing, i went to say hello to Kayleigh she seemed ok so i snuggled for a while until i decided it was time to play again! Kayleigh decided i was the puppy to have and although mummy liked the boring puppy she agreed with Kayleigh's decision. After that my breeder started calling me ozzie. My family visited me a few more times after that and one time daddycame...you could tell he wasn't sure but auntie Cassie cuddled up to him and sat on his lap and that was it he now loves bichons! after my first injection i felt poorly: well it's a big needle!! (the rest of them were just too stupid to realise) so my breeder had to give me extra special attention and cuddled me why we watched tv (mummy says thats why i'm so naughty and like tv because i've always been spoilt!) finally the day came to take me home most of my brothers had left the night before and Millie didn't want anything to do with us any more so my new family came to pick me up and i went to sleep in my mummy's arms on the way home.

25th November Companion Dog Show

Me mummy, Kayleigh and daddy all went to a companion dog show where we met up with the cavaliers: Jasper (mr. grumpy, we give each other space), Willow (Jasper's grandaughter, she's kinda crazy) and Lexie (she's my favourite and knows my game of "chase me"). When we got their my daddy and Willows daddy stumbled off to the pub as they aren't into the whole dog mad thing!

We had to wait for the classes to start which gave me time to meet the locals and some of the other dogs there were quite a few jack russel terriers there who i try to avoid (they seem to think i a m some kind of fluffy toy!?) there were lots of different dogs and so of course i had to say hello to all of them, i particularly got excited when i saw a toy poodle one of the breeds i love (kayleigh says i a strange dog becasue i judge dogs on breed and assume they will all be the same).

The judge for the day was a man (normally i do not like men judges too much, but he seemed pretty jolly ans so i thought i would give it a go). The first class was A.V. Puppy which Willow and Lexie both entered (it was kinda boring but the people watched so i had to as well: it's just not interesting unless it involves me!). Anyway Lexie managed to get a first and Willow got a fifth.

The next class was A.V. Sporting very boring again... then it was my class A.V. Non-Sporting, i was very excited as soon as Kayleigh got the chicken out i knew we were going in. Kayleigh is always very careful where she stands in a line up (if i'm stood next to a lively dog i can sometimes get shy or grumpy and growl at it) i ended up between a professional sheltie and Willow ?!. I know that i have to stand so i done my part and stood professional while Willow jumped around beside me. Next was the table (not my favourite thing, as it smells of other dogs which is yucky and i could fall offf!) but anyway i stood fairly well...when the judge started going ovber irealised for a man he wasn't too bad i even gave his hand a kiss! which made him smile. Then comes my favourite part where you get to walk around and everyone watches you! I get so excited i would love to do it as a canter but Kayleigh always says "steady steady" which means trot so generally i do but that doesn't mean i can't emphasise my trotting skills. Finally we had to stand again and the judge looked us over. He pointed at me and Kayleigh got up so i knew we got FIRST i was excited and allowed to eat all the chicken she had left in her hand!

While we were waiting for the final pedigree class to finish a Dogue de Bordeaux arrived at the show a personal pet hate of mine, Kayleigh saw this a little late and i told the dog off for looking at me until she covered my eyes (she says it just me being silly as theyve never done anything to me unlike other breeds which i like just fine). Anyway it was time for best pedigree me and lexie were in this one with two other dogs one who was an irish setter. As we stood there i ws looking my best the judge felt us over quickly and then we had to walk again GREAT FUN! when we were back to standing the judge kept going between me and the setter until finally he pointed at me and we had won BEST PEDIGREE!! we got a trophy and big rosette and it was a lot of fun, also funny was the judge trying to shake Kayleigh hand whilst she wiped off excess chicken and my kisses from it. We had our picture taken (i love pictures and always smile for the camera even when i'm not sposed to be in the picture!) and then we stayed to watch the fun classes. And i slept all the way home in the car.
