Arrival Story: my husband was going door-to-door as one of Jehovah's witnesses when he and the woman going with him went to an older couple's home. Jean, the woman with him, knew this couple and the wife was upset because her husband, whom she had rescued Lexie from the pound for, couldn't handle her (Lexie had 'men issues' when we got her). My husband fell in love and offered to take her. Even so, she had to get used to him -- my mother fell in love w/her too and so Lexie spent a lot of time in her rooms; when my husband would come home she would bark at him!

Bio: Lexie has had to have knee surgery since we got her (this was about 2000) . When the dr. showed us her x-rays, we saw the pellets that apparently the young man (or his 'friends') who'd had her before the older couple, had graced the poor dog with. we recognized what the source of her 'men issues' might be.
lexie went to live with grandma ruth in 2006. she had to go to the rainbow bridge 2/25/2010. sleep well, darling dog. we miss you.
