My husband has always wanted a Bulldog. They are quite expensive and hard to find. However, we started looking into getting one with much more effort. We located a very sweet lady named Thelma who is a breeder and a rescue agency. She hooked us up with Helen (whose name we are in the process of changing slowly).
The story behind Lucy/Helen is that she was found dumped along a country road in the winter during a snow. She was in bad shape and her skin was a mess. Someone cared enough to take her to the Bulldog rescue in her area where she was found (unknown) and this is how she eventually, came to us. We just got her tonight, but she is so sweet. I can't believe anyone could just dump a beautiful, gentle dog like her! But it's okay now...WE HAVE HER!! :)
As of today (1/5/08), I can officially say that Lucy knows her name. When she came to us, her name was Helen. I didn't know how long she'd been named Helen and how well she was attached to it. I have no idea what her name was before she was rescued either. However, you can call her Lucy and she will come right to you, or at least look at you! :)
Whats yours is mine, whats mine is mine.
She is beautiful, yet brawny. She has the deepest, most gorgeous big brown eyes. I loved her the moment I saw her picture. I was attached to her immediately! :)
