Birthday: March 24th 2007 Likes: Anything as long as he's the center of attention! Pet-Peeves: The "Weenie Gang" next door, they always wanna bark and not play! Also, jealous of anyone around his human - my Mommy! He does not share well with others. Favorite Toy: His sheep (baa-baa), must be that herding instinct. Oh, and the treat jar. Favorite Food: Treats, all treats and more treats. Favorite Walk: Anywhere you'll take him. His favorite question is, "ya wanna go walkabout?" Best Tricks: No outstanding tricks yet. Max fetches the cat (even though the cat doesn't want to be fetched). Arrival Story: It was in the stars! Maximus was a rescue dog from a breeder in NC because he was born partially deaf. Many breeders would actually put a pup down for this so called "handicap". Luckily, this breeder was a nice lady who just wanted to find Max a forever home. She thought I would be the perfect mom but how to get him from NC to FL? Dilemma! Well, apparently planets were in perfect alignment to bring us together. Just so happened a fellow co-worker (and dog lover) was traveling through NC and she agreed to pick him up and bring him back to Florida. Maximus was hand delivered to me only a few days later and has been home sweet home ever since! Forums Motto: Maximus Tsunami - wave of destruction. I went to Cape San Blas, FL for a little vacation with my human mommy & daddy. It was really nice and my mommy says it's "DOG FRIENDLY", whatever that means. Aren't all dogs friendly? Anyway, it was a nice secluded area close to Port Saint Joe in the Florida panhandle. We rented a place called the Pelican's Nest for the week and I got to sleep in any bed I wanted.
Pups are allowed on the beach! We went for a walk in the waves every morning. Sometimes I even got to take off my leash (when I was a good boy). I played "chase me" with daddy in the sand; daddy throws the frisbee, I catch it and he chases me-- FUN! I saw really big fish in the water extremely close to shore; mommy called them dolphins. There were also horses on the beach although I barked at them; ummm, they are spooky BIG! I met lots of other pups in my travels: Muttley (a local lab/aussie), Lightning (a Border Collie), Katie (a Black & Tan Coonhound) and Pandora! She was a friendly Poodle/Chihuahua mix that had one eye and a pink mohawk! Her human made my humans an awesome lunch and one nice girl made us fried oreos. Yummy!
We shopped in Appalachacola at antique shops and there were nice places to eat. Everyone was friendly. It's a laid back, relaxing place for a vacation get-away.
If you're ever out on Hwy 98 close to Wakulla Springs stop by Ouzt's Too and tell Katie and Pandora I said hi!
