Arrival Story:
I'd been hounding my boyfriend for a dog for months; one January 2003 evening, I came home, and Walter was sitting in my boyfriend's lap! As I understand it, Walter was adopted by one family before coming to live with us. That family had a newborn human and couldn't give Walter the attention he demanded. My boyfriend, who works with a mobile ultrasound veterinarian, saw Walter for adoption at one of the local animal hospitals through a local rescue group called Pause 4 Paws (www.pause4paws.org). Even though my boyfriend brought him home, Walter is quite a mamma's boy. I'd be happy if he could be with me all day!

Bio:
Walter is a great companion (though a little embarassing at times--he thinks everyone loves him as much as I do, so he wants to reciprocate by jumping up on people and licking their faces). He loves to give dog kisses, to play fetch, and to try and catch (he has a low success rate, but it might be do to my poor throwing ability). Always happy, Walter loves to be on the go--he is so excited to go in the car or go hiking. He's very jealous, though, if our other dog or cat try to get attention from me. He thinks he deserves it all.

Walter Chronicles

Big Reunion

I met Thelma, my mommy! She is pretty and so soft. We had a rendezvous at Nitro's Grand Bazaar, a fundraiser for Pause 4 Paws. My mommy and I look so much alike, but her legs are a little shorter than mine, and she's longer than I am. When we saw each other for the first time in two years, there was lots of butt sniffing! Then we got our picture taken to commemorate the historic event.

After my mommy left, there was still a lot for me to do. I helped Aimee collect signatures for the humane farms campaign. Everyone said that I was cute, and I gave everyone doggie kisses. Some people even gave me treats! Yum, yum!

Aimee and I also got our picture taken with Nitro, the camel.

I was so good--I only barked at a couple of other dogs, and I was very charming with all the two-legged folks.

On the ride home, I was so tired, I slept like a log!

Coyote Run-in

Tonight, I was outside taking care of business, and a coyote was stalking me! I guess I look plump and juicy. Because I was preoccupied, I didn't even notice. George had to chase it away. Whew, close one! Now, I can't go outside without being on the leash. At least then I can run up and down the driveway dragging Aimee along.

Where's Aimee?

It was another boring night with George. He's just not as much fun! Aimee was volunteering again at the Arizonans for Humane Farms (www.yesforhumanefarms.org) office. I guess the pigs and cows need help, too, especially since they don't have as many people who love them and take care of them.
