Arrival Story:
I browsed the local Rescue Shelter website for several months... just looking for a possible sister or brother for Priss. I'd seen several, but none of them really caught my attention. Then one night I saw the website link for a female, 2 year old black Pomeranian that was immediately adoptable. I just glanced at the pic and moved on to the next one. Well, I kept thinking about it, and had to spend quite a while digging through the site looking for just that one picture again. When I found it, I read every detail about her. She had already been spayed, all shots and everything... ready to go to a new home. I sent and email inquiry about her and filled out the adoption papers. Back and forth the emails went for about 2 weeks, until today, Baybee came home with me.
Bio:
Apparently someone had taken her to a veternarian to be euthanized because she was loosing her hair. And they had been assigned to work 16 hour shifts. Knowing they could not provide her a good home anymore they opted to end her life.
She had a terrible case of mange. Most of her hair had fallen out, and there were some awful sores on her skin. And she was very overweight. They treated the mange, and put her on a diet and now she's great! Beautiful shiney black coat and bright eyes. She seems to be taking to Priss pretty well. So far they have tended to just ignore each other. I'm hoping when they get more familiar with each other, they will play together. Priss is big on playing!
Update on BB....
If you visited my home you'd think I had a couple of toddlers here with all the toys around. But, no... my toddler has four feet and perky ears and a curly tail. She's big on toys that squeek or rattle, or otherwise make noise. BB has been here about 3 months now, and it seems I can't remember being without her. She has well integrated into my home and my life. Priss and BB sometimes still fuss about various things, but no more than you might expect from any siblings. I have been intervening a few times in giving BB some lessons in submissive behavior, and she is learning.
She had been getting into a habit of being agressive when I held or just petted Priss, but now she has greatly improved in accepting that. I hope she knows that no matter how much I hold one or the other, they both get their lap time. I'm hoping for the day when they will share my lap at the same time.
BB really doesn't like a bath! Its like trying to put an octopus in a pillow case! All legs going every direction! We manage. Priss doesn't exactly love it either, but she's accepting... just get it done.
You'll never guess where I have caught BB. Outside on the porch rail.... yes! On the rail. Its a 2x4 on top, and the spot where she was is one of those long planter boxes sitting on brackets. I swear she is part mountain goat and the other half monkey! I've had to make sure there are no places that she can climb up on anything. I caught here up there and my heart about fell out. OMG... I told her do not get up there anymore. I do not have any spare dinky little skinney black legs!
Now and then BB gets the zoomies - long with Priss. They run an obstical course through the house. I guess they see me as the hazzard for more 'points!' I have to hop over one or the other ... all I see is a red or a black streak! But when BB is quiet and settles in my lap, its like she has always been there... and always will be.

Today is my New Life Birthday. I was adopted 2 years ago today, so that makes me 4 years old now. I love my new mama and my sister Priss. Y'all help me celebrate!
