Arrival Story: He was in a local pet shop at the mall.We had Nikki at the time and we were not in the market for another dog. My stepdaughter and I would go to the pet shop every trip to the mall and look at dogs. as we are both dog lovers.Barney and his sister we in a cage there. We would get them both out so we could put them in the play room. This went on for months. One day when we went there his sister was sick. The next time we went his sister was gone. They say she was sold but who really knows what happened to her. Barney was left there by him self now. He is now 9 months old and still at the pet shop. We felt so sorry for him as he has now been in a cage for almost 9 months of his life at this pet store. This is really to old for a dog to be in a cage and for so long. They wanted $500.00 for him. We gave the pet store such a hard time for about another week that they sold him to us for $99.95. If they did not sell him to us for that price we told them we would report them. When we took him out into the fresh air he stretched his little neck so far smelling the fresh air. When we got him home it was so funny to see him walk in the grass as he had never done this before either. AT 9 months or so of age with no training at all he was a hand full. So with our help and his sister NIKKI he learned what he should do and what not to do. Nikki and him became best buddies. It was the best $99.95 we ever spent. He was a wonderful dog and a real sweetie too.
Bio: Barney was a real smart dog.He made it on the local TV channel for dog of the week on HEATHERS PET PALS. Him and his sister NIKKI got a great christmas gift one year from santa. It was a gum ball machine made just for Doggie treats. It had a large bone on it for the dogs to push down to let the treats out. By the time that christmas day evening came they both knew how to work that treat gum ball machine. Barney sure did love his little doggies treats so he would lay across the front of it garding it so Nikki could not get any treats out of it. Christmas was the best day of the year for him. He loved to open all of his gifts by him self. He passed over the rainbow bridge about a year ago and is so sadly missed by every one in the family. He had a stroke while we were out of town and his grandpa was watching him. I guess maybe he just was trying to spare me of seeing him so sick. His grandpa says he will never forget what happened to him that he was one sick little doggie. Grandpa took him right to the vets and there was nothing the vet could do to save him. He gave us 13 years of true love and joy.Barney is very sadly missed.
