Arrival Story:
We found Miracle in the paper. This was the add: Mini dachshund needs a new home ASAP !! she is also pregnant!! Bred to a shih-tzu kinda of a oops!! she is red brindle in color." Needless to say I had to call and rescue this baby. She was so underweight but had a belly at the same time. The woman only had her a few months, she said the reason she was getting rid of her was because she decided she didn't like little dogs anymore. Well I fell in love the minute I saw her. She literally jumped out of the woman's arms into mine. On the ride home she got sick and threw up a gross amount of other dogs clipped toe nails, the lady was a groomer so all I can figure is she was licking up the floor...YUCK!
The woman had not vetted her so that's the first thing we did. Turned out she was not pregnant but had worms really bad. I added a picture of how she looked when we got her. When I rescue a dog I always keep in mind this dog probable has some behavior problem that the people aren't disclosing for fear we will not take the dog. Not that I care because there is nothing I'm not willing to work through to get a dog whole. So I just kept waiting to find some issue ...like she isn't house broken or she has food aggression or some socialization problems...but nothing! She is house broken, well trained and just an all around love bug.
