Big Lazy

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

November 20th 2006

I love Pig ears, sleeping on my parent's bed, playing outside with my friends, sharing food, and I am a great cuddler.

I do not like children who scream and chase me.

Favorite Toy:
I like to destroy my toys, including the indestructable ones! But I like my ball that I haven't eaten yet. I also like to bite on Daddy's arm, but I don't hurt him, I just do it to play.

Favorite Food:
My favorite foods are potato chips, hamburgers, and bully sticks.

Favorite Walk:
I love to run around the yard, and I also like to walk through the lake at my Grams house!

Best Tricks:
I give paws, lay down, sit, and I am learning to catch peanut butter cookies in the air!

Arrival Story:
I was adopted on Superbowl Sunday because the Patriots were not in the Superbowl and it presented a good time to add some joy into my parents lives.

I was part of a litter of 16 with 9 surviving puppies. I am still very close with my brother Smokey. My mom is Marci and my dad is Jason. I am very close with my cousin Brandi, my neighbors Princess and PJ and my friends Toby and Charlie. I am considered a "Doggie Good Citizen," which means that I am friendly and well behaved. I am spoiled by everyone that knows me!

Forums Motto:
I love to cuddle!

Life over the last few years had been full of changes and surprises. In 2011, I welcomed a baby human brother to my family. His name is Jackson. He has been my pal ever since. I have protected him, played with him, and even let him sleep on me!

In 2012, we moved out if the cramped condo and into a big house in the country. It was a dream come true! I could finally run off the leash and I have seven acres of land to roam around. There is a big sunny living room and other kids and dogs in the neighborhood to play with.

In 2013 I welcomed a puppy brother named Brewster to my family. He is a little wild and crazy and sometimes we fight, but I am warming up to him.

In 2014, my life got a little challenging. I was diagnosed with am awful disease called Wobblers syndrome. It made me feel numb in my legs and hard to walk, but I have been strong for my family. I have had to take lots of pills to help me feel better, but mommy gives them to me on peanut butter crackers which are yummy!

Today is my 8th birthday. It is a time for celebration, but this has been a bad week. I just can't get up to walk anymore and the vet says my spine has given out. Dr. Innis came over and gave me acupuncture to help me relax. Last night, though, I felt very sick and mommy worried that I might be bloated. I don't know, but I am not hungry and I don't feel good. I think there is a birthday party for me today, but I am not supposed to know. It's supposed to be a surprise . I hope I feel well enough to eat my cake.

Mommy and daddy said that they were going to wait until tomorrow to have Dr. Innis come over, but they are worried that I am sick and in pain so she is going to come tonight. She is going to help them bring me across the rainbow bridge so that I can run and play again. Mommy thought that I shouldn't leave on my birthday, but daddy thinks it is the best time to let me be free from pain and sickness. I think I am ready for that. I have tried so hard to be strong for my family over the last few months, but it is so hard. I will miss them and they will miss me, but I want them not to cry and not to be sad. They will be ok because I will be their guardian angel watching over them. I will be ok because I will not hurt and will be able to run free.

I love you mommy, daddy, Jackson, Brewster, and the new baby in mommy's tummy. I will always be with you and I know you love me more than anything in the world and will never ever forget me .

It has been a very fun and busy summer! My mom and dad got married last month so that was a hectic time for me. Between all the parties, special get togethers and sleepovers, I spent quite a biot of time away from home. Mommy says she is glad that I am so laid back and that I travel well, because we spent time together and Grandma and Grandpa's house. Also I visited my other grandparents at the lake and got to swim quite a bit!

The week before the wedding I scared mommy. First I got a bite or something on my eyelid. No one was worried until the next morning when my face was all swollen and I had itchy, bumpy hives all over my boday. Mommy rushed me to the vet and I got a shot and some medicine.

Two days later I had an allergic reaction to the medicine! I was panting, pacing, and my heart was racing. Mommy was really scared it was bloat, so she rushed me to the hospital in the middle of the night! Thank God it was not bloat, and I was OK as long as I took a strict regimen of Benadryl. I didn't mind, it often came wrapped in treats. And if I managed to eat the treat and spit out the pill, I got more!!

The day of the rehersal was awesome, it was on the lake! I swam with Tristan and Caitlyn, my human cousins. My pomeranian cousins barked at me all day, but no big deal I just ignore them!

The wedding day had me in a panic! First, a house full of people, people taking my picture, and then I actually got yelled at by grandma for circling and laying down on a fluffy white carpet! Apperently it was called a "train" and attached to the back of Mommy's dress, but she didn't care. She just wanted a picture of me!

After hours in the house alone, about a million people came back! I mean most I met once or twice, some I never even met! But mommy, daddy, grandparents and aunties Deanna and Renee were there to keep me safe. Everyone was drinking and eating and feeding me scraps to get me to visit! Mom and Dad had matching T-Shirts with my picture that said "Mastiff Mom" and "Mastiff Dad" they are so poroud of me!

Then they went away for FOREVER!!!!! I stayed with the grandparents and grandpa walked me three times a day and grandma just plain spoiled me as usual! I missed my parents, but I LOVE being at their house. Especially lounging in the sun in there enormous yard.

Mom and Dad are finally home and so am I. We are getting back to normal, but it is still summer so I have a few more lake visits and camping to look forward to! Wow I am a lucky puppy, but my mom and dad think they are the luckiest ones of all!

It has been awhile since I have posted. My life has been very busy. I get to go to accupuncture treatments twice a month now to help with my health issues and it is working great. Along with my vitamins and certain exercises I am feeling like a pup again! The weather is warming and that means hoses and lakes again! I am kind of a water dog. Actually water excercise is great on my joints so I get to swim without getting in trouble!

Last weekend I went to my grandparents house for the weekend. Mom and Dad went skiing. I love that I get to have sleepovers with them when Mom and Dad are away. They are awesome grandparents that spoil me like crazy. I get hand made burgers and chicken! I get ice cream! I get to go in the pool and run around without a leash. I get to walk with Grandpa! At night Grandma actually stays on the recliner so she can keep me company on the couch.

I get so excited to see Mom and Dad of course, but I still love to be at Grandma and Grandpa's. I am such a lucky dog that I have two places that feel like home and so many people that love me!
