Arrival Story:
Hello there! I am the blessed owner of 'Gemma', a gorgeous 14 year old, female, border collie x german shepherd. Gemma was born 11 September 1995, and adopted on 23 October 1995. On adoption, Gemma was just 6 weeks old, and we paid a measly $10 (Australian) for her as she was a mutt to her breeder! More fool her breeder, we have not looked back a single day with any regrets. Gemma is very smart, and loves to please her pack (both humans and other pets!) Gemma is my best friend. She is very loving, loyal, obedient and trustworthy. All Gemma asks for in return is her pack to love, food, water and most importantly respect. Special note: X-breeds or mutts make better dogs than pedigrees in some instances. Actually, in my eyes any dog with a loving understanding pack leader is a good dog. & any bad dog is just misunderstood and not getting everything it needs. Be Calm, Assertive and Dominant and your dog will always be stable minded, happy and love you, as well as respect you. Til next time. *Woof*

Hello There!

First of all, let me say WELCOME to my DIARY!

Please allow me to briefly introduce myself... My name is Gemma. I am a female, Border Collie x German Shepherd, and I was born 11 Sept 1995.

I came from a litter of 10 pups but I was mums pick. She sat down in the yard surrounded by pups but I jumped on her lap and licked her face, so she adopted me. I went to live at my new home on 23 Oct 1995, when I was just 6 weeks old. (I am now nearly 14 years old.)

My doggy mum was a purebreed show/breeding german shepherd, and my doggy dad was a purebreed show / breeding border collie. But I lost contact with my doggy parents when I moved in with my human family but we have many furry, feathered, scaled and finned family members (mums other pets)...

I am very loved by all my human family. My main job these days is to lavish my human pack with lots of love, and make sure that all mum's pets stay in line... hehehe. Being a working dog, but elderly, my mum thought that a good way to put me to work .... she put me in charge of looking after her other pets... well, mainly the cat (but i look upon him as my cat son - I have never had any pups of my own.) and the rabbits... I have to make sure that they don't escape when they are running around in the backyard. Was a close call one day.... mum went out, and we had a big storm, well the gate to the rabbits yard blew open... and one bunny tried to escape... but I sat with the rabbits and made sure they stayed in the yard.

I am a big help to my mum that way.

Til next time!

Hello There!

First of all, let me say WELCOME to my DIARY

I am new to dogster, so please allow me to briefly introduce myself...
My name is Gemma, and I was born 11 Sept 1995. I had 9 other brothers and sisters but I was mum's pick, and she adopted me on 23 Oct 1996 when I was just 6 weeks old. (I am now 12 years old.)

My doggy mum was a purebreed show/breeding german shepherd. My doggy dad was a purebreed show / breeding border collie. Sadly, I lost contact with my doggy parents when I moved in with my human mummy (Deb), daddy (Steve) & my human sisters (Kathryn & Michelle), and our many furry, feathered, scaled and finned family members... but that's okay because I am very loved by my human family.

My job is lavish my human pack with lots of love, and also make sure that all mum's pets stay in line... hehehe. Being a working dog and all, my mum thought that a good way to put my nature to work is to put me in charge of of her other pets... well, mainly the cat (whom i look upon as my cat son - closest son I have as I never had any pups of my own.) and the rabbits... making sure that they don't escape when they are running around in the back yard. One day, mum went out we had a big storm and the gate to the rabbits yard blew open... but I sat in with the rabbits and made sure they stayed in the yard. I am a big help to my mum that way.

Oh I almost forgot... I want to say a big THANK YOU (WOOF!) to every pup for being so welcoming to the new dog. I felt very loved by all the emails. Thank you again. :)
