Ony, Fluff-bottom, Huckster, Fluffer, SquirleGirl

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Quick Bio:

November 25th 1992

Themommy! Playing in the sprinklers! Running in the sand! Bikits! Themommy! Swimming in streams! Barking at Thedaddy! Laying by the SmellMachien! Themommy! Meeting nice Kitties! Playing with Terry! Oh, and Themommy!

Mean kitties (like hairball - she used to live with us), baths are no fun, but I do like to play in water when it's not a bath, the silly game Thedaddy made up called "nose, nose, ear, toes", seeing the suitcase come out (I'm afraid I won't be able to go)

Favorite Toy:
hedgehog and frog

Favorite Food:
in the summer, tomatoes right off the vine and those tastey straberries, but I have to get them before Themommy, icecream, carrots, roasted garlic, bell peppers, mushrooms, anything off the SmellMachien.

Favorite Walk:
beach!!! . . . I also like to ride behind Themommy when she rides her bike (I have my own cart)

Best Tricks:
tricks? tricks are for kids! But I'll do anything for Themommy.

Arrival Story:
Themommy grew up with every animal imaginable, cats were to be dressed-up as doll and played with the birds, dogs and hampsters as though they didn't know better and the dogs brought the ferral (day old) kittens to the back door for us to raise and love themselves ... But Thedaddy had only had "outside" dogs and didn't know what a companion was. He thought that dogs needed great big back yards because that was where they lived - wrong! Backyards are a place to poop and hang out on sunny days while the people earn money for dog food! After ten years of explaining how fantastic Corgis were - Thedaddy finally said, fine - we have a house, get a Corgi. I read papers and finally found an ad. My best friend and I went to meet a lady from Sacramento that had a litter..... Onycha was the only puppy I picked up - I knew the moment our eyes met!

Onycha: A dark brown gum resin obtained from the stem and leaves of a species of the rockrose, also known as ladanum. Onycha was used as an ingredient in the holy anointing oil (Ex. 30:34). It was highly valued for its fragrance and medicinal qualities. . . . The rockrose was a bush growing to a height of about one meter (three feet) and having large white flowers measuring eight centimeters (three inches) across. Some scholars believe the substance referred to as myrrh in Genesis 37:25 and 43:11 was onycha. . . . † . . . - You were my best little gir! You gave me my life back!! You were my muse, my breath, my bouncy blessing!!! I will always miss you!!!! I held you until your last breath, my precious baby girl, and I shall love you until my last!

My Tail of Devotion for Onycha Harley

Thank you for sharing your adventure with me
So small that day we met
So quiet and tiny on the ride home
You and I – committed with a glance – we began
Pismo Beach, San Simeon, Dana Point,
Mendicino, Gualalla, San Francisco,
Quincy, Paradise, Grants Pass,
So many more places
And your hair went where you could not

Thank you for making me laugh out loud
When tears overwhelmed
For your bark, that sounded true
When all about was darkness and I’d lost my way
Throughout my whole day, and every choice I made
Involved you
You were the silvery thread that held me to this life
By my side, keeping me from slipping into the great divide

Thank you for being my poseable pup
And allowing me to dress you
In your hat and heart-shaped sunglasses,
Or the yellow and blue jesters costume
That was complete with belled cap
For pictures uncountable in places to astound and bemuse
Allowing all those others to take pictures too
Of you that day at the duck-races as you cheered on Thedaddy
Or walking through san Francisco with your backpack.

Thank you for making christmas fun
Opening gifts with us and ever-after barking at tubes
You were the physical representation of the love of God for me
You made me feel your whole existence was just for me
That your whole world revolved around me
And that I was your best friend

Thank you that you made me want to show you the world
I had lost the desire to be in
Singing with me – those silly songs I made up for you
For making rooster-tails in the sand
Because you ran so fast
Standing in front on our first canoe ride
As though you were my guide
Those picnics in the park,
Walks through towns, dipping in rivers and
Quiet ossuary days

Thank you that you were never just a dog
Always a lady – regal and lovely
Loveable and tender and so concerned
Always knowing what I wanted – ever beyond expectation
Bouncing through the sprinklers
Laying in the font yard
Our guard – watching your world – and our hearts

Thank you for that moment
Wasn’t it yesterday
Dancing under the stars
The moon lit the sky just for you
It was just a breath of time
But you breathed it into me
And when I was about to fall through
You were there for me to hold on to
That perfect vessel for me to pour my love into
Filled with light and love and overflowing
With joy that drenched my soul

Thank you for being my muse
Giving me again words to spin from my pen
Stories of a Corgi and songs and poems
My clown, my eyes, my laughter
Giving my soul words aloud to sound
And I am not afraid
While the pen spins tales of a tailless wonder
Thank you for sharing your adventure with me

His nostrils flare
Do I move, do I dare?
My heart pounds
In my ears it sounds
White fangs slowly bare

His muscles tense
Beneath fur so dense
I tremble in fear
a cornered deer
I no longer have sense

He is poised to kill
I know he has great skill
for this his chosen role
His eyes bits of bright coal
This knowledge a bitter pill

I have only one chance
as his faltering glance
gives me the barest delay
to run asway
My life in the balance

I fall
His teeth maul
I am lost
All is lost
I hear death's call

I’ll always love you

I, the chooser, have chosen
to pour out my life on you.
I shall fill the air with the music of my voice,
every room with my presence,
the vacuum with copious amounts of hair,
and your lap with warmth and adoration.

To you I give an oath
that no tear you shed shall go unnoticed,
no sigh ignored, or fear unchased.
For you - are for me
all the colors of the rainbow,
my sunshine, and my days dawn with you.

As long as I am able to amble,
I will go anywhere with you
and do anything you desire.
I will FRAP until you can no longer laugh,
perfect the “soulful eyes”
and make sure there is no part of your face unlicked.

If you let me I will be your clown, guide and muse.
I will bring you a smile every day,
a cuddle to warm each night,
and maybe even your slippers.
As long as you care,
I’ll never leave your side.

You are my master, companion, friend and love.
No matter how many are strewn through the house;
You are my favorite toy.
Your voice is my favorite sound,
And until my last breath,
I will be true to you as none other.
