Best Tricks: Nothing special, she will listen and stay close off leash Arrival Story: Strider is my first dog. I got her in June of 2006. I had wanted a dog all of my life but my mom didn't want the house to get dirty and she didn't think she liked dogs. Well after my parents found out I was going to move out with some guy friends of mine I told them I would stay home if they let me have a dog. To my surprise my mom did! Now she is absolutely in love with Strider as well as the rest of the family.
Strider is now living with me in an upper duplex down in St. Peter, MN where I go to Gustavus College. I wish I had another dog to keep her company, she misses being around my family. She is pretty spoiled though, I take her out to play in a huge forest/meadow area right by the Minnesota River. We play Frisbee and she goes swimming even in November, and she loves chasing deer. Bio: I bought Strider from Northern Sky Kennels. www.northernskykennels.com Forums Motto: I LOVE RAW FOOD! Now that Lily went to another foster its back to being the only child for me! Yay! Well thats what I thought at first. I got all the attention and didn't haven't worry about any dog stealing my sunshine but now while mommy sits on the computer to do homework I don't have anyone to play with. I tried playing with the cat but it just gets mad at me. Bah hum bug.
I guess its back to playing the game of barking at everything that gets within 100 ft of the house. I don't know why mom gets mad when I do that, I mean come on I'm just trying to protect her!
I finally bought Strider a harness and we have been trying skijoring. I thought Strider would automatically want to pull me but it hasn't been so easy. I've realized that I've trained her to walk nice by pulling back on the leash when she pulls on it. So teaching her to pull me on ski's has been interesting! We are making progress though, I'm trying to teach her what "Mush" means.
Strider and I wish she had another dog to play with because I have homework to do and she doesn't like to do anything that doesn't involve me playing with her. I'd either like to get a black German shepherd or a hybrid shepherd wolf mix. Today Strider and I will go out and play for an hour or so in the woods. We have a lot of fun, i'm just not a dog so it might be more interesting if I was.
