Arrival Story:
When Alison had to place her Maltese (Kenya) because she was returning to school, she drove past a dog walker in our neighborhood with a Maltese in tow. She asked if anyone he knew would be interested in a Maltese. We are the lucky ones. He arrived in a flurry of 3 rugrats and two young girls anxious to find him a home. They said grandma just couldn't cope with the three children and a dog. So, Wolfgang Amadogeus (six days Stuart's junior -- yet familialy unrelated) graciously welcomed him into our home. Troublemaker! He only barked for 14 hours straight the first day. And the police only had to visit us four times -- because our neighbors were going crazy from the constant din. Wolfie could care less. Norma Jean (I think it describes her beauty) got so much exercise that first year being chased by howling Stuart that it probably has prolonged her life. Stuart has mellowed. He did eventually HAVE to be debarked -- not that it worked -- in order for our neighbors to get any rest. And then at age 8 a long unseen liver shunt reared its ugly head. Luckily our credit card advance covered the $4,000 it took to get him well. But when he looks at you and does that little quiver, you just can't help but give him a big kiss on the lips. And then there was that episode with the mail lady. They stopped delivering our mail and we had to move. But that's another story. Update 2008: So, we moved! First from West Hollywood to Redondo Beach (for three years) and now on to Las Vegas, NEW MEXICO. Yes, there is one. We are on ten acres and Stuart just never gets tired of exploring. We have to keep him close because there are mountain lions and bears (although we have yet to see one).

Two brothers, Wolfgang Amadogeus and Tito. Two kitty sisters: Norma Jean and Lylythe (she's from Hollywood, too -- now deceased). In his picture, he's wearing Gucci.
