Arrival Story:
We knew we wanted a black and tan miniature dachshund, and Goobers was the last of his litter. We were worried that perhaps that meant there was something wrong with him, but in fact it was because they were saving the best for last! He was small, long, and wiggly, and when I asked him if he wanted to come home with us, he licked my nose. It has been love and lickings ever since.

Bio:
Goobers adores people, and likes small doggies once he gets to know them. Bailey and Ginger are his best friends. He is always coming up with new things to entertain us, his latest being setting up his own little nest on top of a heating pad on the couch and making some very funny old man noises when he settles onto his warm nest.

Bailey and Ginger gave me a fabulous present, the Everlasting Treat Ball. I love it soooooo much that Mommy and Daddy have started calling it My Precious, as apparently I behave like some guy called Gollum when they try to take it from me. I love it!

Busy

It has been a busy time for me and my parents. They both started new jobs, which meant I had to learn how to stay home by myself aaaaaaaaaaaall day. It makes me sad, I miss them and my chew bones that I can't have when I'm by myself.
So now I attend doggie daycare twice a week in Ballard. Mommy keeps telling me that it's good for me to make friends and learn how to be more social, but so far I am pretty timid when I am there. However, I am making friend with small, fluffy dogs who aren't as long or as cute as me.
I had a Grrrrrreat New Year's, as my best buds Bailey and Ginger came to spend the holiday with me. We ran around until we were exhausted, ate lots of yummy crumbs and cheese nibbles from the table, and then slept snuggled up on the couches next to Jessica, Sara, Nicole, Mommy, and Daddy. It was great fun!
I found today that dachshunds are number 7 out of the top 10 most popular dogs in America (according to the AKC). While I think I should be number 1, and certainly should be higher than that OTHER German dog breed, I am glad I made the list!

Thanksgiving is going to the dogs

I really like the holiday season. It begins with my parents buying me seasonal Bobos and people ringing the doorbell to ask for treats. We just did the part where I get to visit other family dogs, such as Abbie and Rascal, and eat lots of Turkey. If I recall correctly, that means next we get a tree and I get to help Mom bake in the kitchen. When I help bake, I usually end up dusted in powdered sugar and getting fed bits of peanut butter. The best part is coming up, when I get to open gifts under the tree. I hope I get something that squeaks.
To ensure that, I created an Amazon wish list, which can be found by searching the wish lists for Goobers. Apparently, I am the only web-savvy pet named Goobers.
