My mother had a toy poodle, Max, and I fell in love with him. The next year, my mother took me to the breeder who had raised Max. For my anniversary, my mom bought Bear for me. He has the same parents as Max! I picked Bear because the breeder had three puppies left. When she opened the crate, the other two sat there, while Bear walked straight over to me! I knew I had my dog! He looked so much like a little teddy bear, that I registered him as Tracy's Teddy Bear.
Bio:
Bear was so used to being the baby in the family, that when my daughter was born in November, he ignored me, and played with my husband for about 6 weeks. He finally warmed up to me again after that, and decided to accept the baby. The two of them now play together every day. The only problem is that Bear is obsessed with keeping her clean, and tries relentlessly to clean the drool off of her chin. Pretty hard job when the baby is teething. Anyway, we all love Bear, and cannot ever imagine life without him. I always tell him (privately) that he was my "first" baby since he was here long before my daughter, and no matter how much we love the baby, we love him too.
