Arrival Story:
Zeke was our Foster dog and came to us from a shelter in Arkansas. When Zeke was first brought to the shelter with his brother, they had not been fed for some time and were both so emaciated that you could see all of their ribs. He weighed only 46 pounds. (He is now 62!). When I saw his picture on our Rescue site his sweet sweet face and beautiful eyes spoke to me immediately. We had helped many many dogs come North and find adoptive families but I knew that he was meant to stay with our family before he even arrived! The day that we met the transport, he came out of his crate and immediately greeted me with kisses and did the same when he met his new sister, our Rhodesian, Halle. He had barely been home a few hours when I came into the family room and found him curled up in the dog bed with Halle. I had the adoption paperwork filled out that night:) We just adore him!

Hello there! My name is Zeke and folks say I am a Boxer mix. Mixed with what they are not quite sure. I was a rescue dog and came to Maine from a shelter in Arkansas to find my forever family. When they brought me to the shelter I was quite underweight and very anxious to find a home and people to love.
I have been in Maine for three weeks and the rumors are true! People in Maine treat their dogs like family! I love my new family and especially love my new big sister Halle. (Check out our picture on the dog bed together.) She is a Rhodesian mix who loves to play as much as I do! My first week here was filled with all kind of adventures. I had not spent much time inside so there were some scary new things. I wasn't quite sure how to use those stair things but now I'm a pro and can even skip the last couple if I'm chasing Halle down them! I've finally made friends with the vacuum cleaner and dishwasher and don't need to hide anymore when they go on. I love sleeping in the dog bed with Halle, but my VERY favorite place is Mom and Dad's big bed. Strange, they are talking about getting a bigger one now, but this one seems fine when you are in the middle of it!
