Arrival Story:
After our second Golden passed on, I started looking for another Golden. I contacted a member of the Golden Retriever Club of America in California and was put on waiting lists from California to N. Carolina. We weren't having any luck because most of the puppies were already spoken for and we wanted a female. She remembered a breeeder in Wisconsin that was expecting a litter. I contacted her in June and she said the puppies were due around July 21 but we were 4th on the list for a female. I didn't hear from her so I called on July 21st & asked if she had any puppies yet. She said they're being born right now & we have 4 little girls! We drove to Wisconsin from Colorado Labor Day weekend to pick up our new baby Golden. She got the name "Roadie" because it was a two day road trip to pick her up.

Bio:
Roadie was with us for 11 years. I discovered a lump on her neck and took her to the vet for a biopsy. I already knew the horrible news the vet was going to give us. She had lymphoma. We had already lost 2 other Goldens to cancer. The prognosis wasn't good. Maybe 1-3 months at best. A week later, Roadie just couldn't get up on her own. We knew it was time. Luckily, her vet came to our house for her final goodbye. We loved her so much and will never forget her. She was a real pill at times and we figure she had been a comedian in a former life. Roadie, we will always remember you and you will always stay in our hearts. Now you are free from pain & in heaven with Truckee and Cruiser. A year later we got our new baby girl "Skooter". As I was looking at Skooters pedigree, I noticed that Roadies father is Skooters Grandfather! I was beyond thrilled! We still have a bit of Roadie with us!
