Pet-Peeves: Being left alone, when Sammy and Sunny don't want to play with him, not getting to share whatever Mommy and Daddy are eating
Favorite Toy: Kong Wubba, all of Daisy's (were like new) stuffed, soft toys, which I rip up and chew holes in, pull stuffing and/or squeekers out of , anything with a squeeker, toilet paper rolls
Favorite Food: Whatever Mommy and Daddy are eating: sashimi, turkey, roast, eggs and toast - mmmm - yummers! and liver treats! yay!
Favorite Walk: I run to the food dish and tear around the back yard. . .but other than that, I'm too little to walk and I love to be carried in Daisy's pink puppy purses 'cause I'm a "petrosexual" and that's okay! :O)
Best Tricks: Looking cute, being adorable, giving kisses, getting belly rubs, and making puppy eyes to get whatever he wants, whenever he wants it
Arrival Story: A while back, at the beginning of summer, Daddy mentioned to Mommy one day, that he was thinking it would be a wonderful idea to get a little boy doxie playmate for Daisy to be best friends with, to hang out with and to have fun with. He wondered what Mommy thought of that. Mommy thought it was a terrific idea! Daddy said that the new baby boy doxie would be a black and tan one this time, 'cause he really liked the way Daisy's brother Cash looked and he thought he was so very handsome and he thought that the two of them would look great together: one red and one black and tan. How cute would that be?! Daddy also announced that the baby boy doxie's name would be "Dexter" 'cause that sounds so smart, and he just knew that the little boy doggie would be really, really smart. Mommy thought that was the cutest name ever and said she loved it - it was just perfect. And so Mommy and Daddy announced to Maggie and Kodi and Shadow's parents that they were going to soon be getting a little boy doxie for Daisy and they even told them that his name would be Dexter. The following weekend, Mommy and Daddy went to visit their friends whom they had told about Dexter, and they were all excited, asking where he was? when was he going to arrive? They just couldn't wait to meet me! Mommy and Daddy just laughed. They then told their friends that they hadn't even spoken to Daisy' s breeder to be put on the list to get him. And then the most unthinkable, horrible, awful, tragic and truly heart-breaking event happened: on the evening of September 16th, 2007, Daisy Dachshund had a horrific accident, and she died in Mommy and Daddy's arms in their backlane. It was more than either of them could bear. On the evening of September 17th, 2007, Mommy and Daddy had to make some of the the hardest phone calls they've ever had to make. Mommy called the very nice sweet lady from the dog show that had found Daisy for her a couple of years ago, and told her about the horrible accident, and of course the nice sweet lady was just that, so kind and nice and sweet. She knew that it was an awful accident, and she knew that Mommy and Daddy needed a new little doxie baby to care for and love, and she said she just might be able to help Mommy and Daddy out soon. Mommy then called Daisy's wonderful breeder, and relayed the sad news. The wonderful breeder lady, was just that too - she understood that it was a tragic accident, and said that she would definately send another baby doxie to Mommy and Daddy when the right little one came along, and that they would be on her waiting list. About an hour later, the phone rang. It was the very nice sweet lady that had found Daisy for Mommy and who had so highly recommended Mommy to the breeder. She was calling to say that I, Dexter, was theirs, and was going to be with them in two days time, actually in just two sleeps: I was to travel to Winnipeg on WestJet, just like Daisy had a couple of years ago before me, together with another little baby doxie that the very nice lady was getting. And Mommy and Daddy were to meet her at the airport at suppertime to pick me up on September 18th. The nice lady knew that Mommy and Daddy needed me so much more than the breeder in Ontario that I was supposed to go to. And there I was! I arrived safe and sound and I'm helping them to be happy and focus on something wonderful to love and care for (and spoil LOTS!)
Bio: I'm a Canada Day Baby - born on the 1st of July! I just so happen to be a chocolate doxie (and tan, well, more like caramel. . .thus the nickname: "The Secret" 'cause I look just like a Caramilk bar when it's opened up!) And I'm actually Daisy's little nephew. When Daisy travelled to Winnipeg from Vancouver, she was in a crate with big(ger) brother Cash, and I'm actually his little boy. So we're very much related, much more than just both being minature doxies. We''re blood relatives, and I am so much like Daisy was in so many ways: I'm so very sweet, and loving, and loveable, and I love to be cuddled and kissed and give kisses. I love being carried around everywhere and going everywhere with Mommy and Daddy. And I'm also very much enjoying all the spoiling and doting (and treats) that I'm getting, just like Daisy did. Mommy is suspicious of this, and truth be told, Daisy talks to me and tells me what to do and how to behave so that I can be and do everything that Mommy and Daddy loved and miss about her. But, Mommy and Daddy don't expect me to be exactly like her, no do they want me to be. They want everything about her to be special and her's alone, and remember her and everything she was with fondness and love. But I do try my very best to be an amazing little doxie, just like Daisy was, and I'm succeeding by leaps and bounds! Mommy and Daddy are simply thrilled to have a new baby doxie and to have one that is related to Daisy is extra special sweet and for that (and me) they're forever so very greatful: to both the very sweet kind nice lady, for once again, getting them the perfect pup and the wonderful breeder. And of course, I've got them wrapped around my little paw now. . .it's all about me, all the time! *lotsa sweet puppy kisses* Love you Mommy and Daddy!~ Dexter XOXO

I've Been On Dogster Since:
Our Sweet Sunny
Gone but not forgotten.
Forever missed. Forever loved.
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
To decide anything for myself.
Are you coming then? asked God.
Soon, replied the whiskered angel
But I must come slowly
For my human friends are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But don't they understand? asked God
That you'll never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed?
It just is....forever and ever and ever.
Eventually they will understand,
Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am....forever and ever and ever.
